  1. Denver, Mt Rushmore, And Yellowstone

We made a similar trip last year, the beginning of September. We camped with our 40' in Custer State Park, at the Game Lodge Campground. There were quite a few site that could accommodate 40'. The first morning we woke up with a herd of buffalo in the adjacent pasture. The Game Lodge is next to the campground and has a very good restaurant. This location was convenient to both Mt. Rushmore and Crazy Horse. If you do stay at Custer State Park, you should note that there are a number of roads within the park that have limited clearances. While in the Yellowstone area, we camped in West Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park.
  2. Destination: Yellowstone Park

We traveled to Yellowstone in September. On the way we stayed at Custer State Park, Game Lodge campground. They have sites large enough for a 40' motorhome. They have 50 ampere service, but no other utilities on site. The first morning, there was a herd of bison passing by the campground. We used this as our base for Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. The State Game Lodge is adjacent to the campground and has a good dining room. Custer State Park itself is well worth exploring. Many of the roads through the state park are not suitable for a large RV because of the tunnels. While visiting Yellowstone, we stayed at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park which is located in West Yellowstone, Montana. Don't miss the Grand Teton National Park, which is just South of Yellowstone. While there we stayed at Colter Bay Village RV Park. We took a Jackson Lake Cruise, which was outstanding.
  3. We will be visiting the Traverse City area and would appreciate recommendations for a campground to stay at with our 40' motorhome.
  4. Next September, I plan on returning from the Titons to Chicago on Interstate 80. I would appreciate any suggestion on place to stay and see in Nebraska.
