Welcome to the Forum. If it wont come down then why would you need for it to go up?

Sorry, What kind of shade is it? Is it manual or power?

With a little more information there will be someone with your same shade that may have had the same problem.

Good Luck,

If it is electric it could be the switch. Polarity is reversed to go up or down.
