We have a 1992 Isuzu Rodeo and have had mixed opinions on flat towing. It is a manual transmission 5 speed with a X-fer case that has 3 positions, 2H/4H/4L. But no neutral on X-fer case. If we opt for a rear driveline disconnect, (Remco) would this make it towable without damaging the x-fer case? The hubs are the Manual type... I have some people indicate yes it would be towable but others are not sure. The manual for the car talks about a 30 mph speed limit and less than 50 miles after that they advise disconnecting both forward and aft drive shafts???

Do you have locking hubs on the front? If so, disengage the hubs, put the transmission in neutral and you should be in freewheeling. You should be able to tow.
