We are a young family with young children that has been bitten by this wonderful nomadic way of life. We live in south Georgia and are part of a group ( we have yet to come up with a name) that goes RVing together. Our group all has young kids ages 16 - 2 and our children have a blast seeing the world (maybe just the Southeast, so far).

We recently traveled to Fort Wilderness Campground at Walt Disney World. This campground is awesome for young and young at heart. The kids do not mind leaving the parks and coming back to the campground because there is so much to do. This time we decided to experiment and only go to the parks 3 out of the 6 days we were there. We didn't here one complaint from the tiny people.

Our next trip will be at Camping on the Gulf , Destin FL. Another great place for famlies. The staff is great and it is the only place I know that if you step out of you camper you are on the beach. White sand, outlet shopping, cooking out with friends, what could be better.

We would love any suggestions from you experts out there on trips we could take with our children and our group.

For now,

Northern Michigan is BEAUTIFUL in the summer with lots to do and see. We have the GREAT Lakes, (HOMES); Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie and Superior. There's fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, biking and more available. There's the Cherry Festival in Traverse City, sand dunes overlooking Lake Michigan, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Mackinack Island, the Soo Locks. Cross over the Mackinack Bridge from the lower to the upper pennisula. For camping there is Traverse Bay RV Resort in Traverse City, Hearthside Grove RV Resort in Petoskey and one the country's top-rated KOAs is located in Petoskey. Northern Michigan is a great family vacation area! I hope you will visit Michigan sometime soon.

We get calls from around the country looking for a chapter with young children. Please contact chapter services at 1-800-543-3622 and let them know that you have a group (even if you don't have a name yet).

We would love to see chapters around the country and Canada with young children to keep this rving way of life into the next generation!

We also have two children (two boys, ages 9 & 13), and I was wondering what you folks do to keep your kids entertained on longer driving trips? If we are in a new area, we insist they look out the window and take in the scenery, but in some areas they've seen many times, they have to keep themselves entertained with hand-held games and such.
