Old Growth Fir And Hemlock

This is a mature stand of Douglas fir and hemlock. Along with Sitka spruce, red alder and maple trees these compose most of the large trees in the forests of Olympic National Park. One of the challenges of photographing these monster trees which grow to heights of 250 to 300 feet is to get the whole tree in a picture.
