  1. It didn't feel rushed except for getting to Colorado Springs from Huntsville and coming back home from Minnesota. For me driving 10 hours in a day was not that bad. The RV drove like a car and probably drove it like a car on the freeways. Most miles I did in one day was about 700+ miles. Hopefully full self driving RV will be a thing within 10 years and can sleep at night while the RV drives itself to a destination. Yeah going back to Yellowstone+Grand Tetons and will add Glacier in the future. I think the next trip will be in the Fall to explore the north east and FL keys in December.
  2. We spent 7 nights at Yellowstone and 4 nights at grand Teton. Yeah would have liked to spent more time there.
  3. Ok just got back and made it back in one piece. Only hiccup was the ac on the motor home went bad at Yellowstone. Got lucky and found Marty in Cody Wyoming to replace the AC top unit (Coleman Mach 15) in a hour. The original ac was a black low profile and he only had the white regular Mach 15 but it did fit and worked well. We didn’t need it at Yellowstone and Grand Tetons anyways and it was on the way so no time lost. So we did Garden of the Gods, pagosa hot springs (wife thinks the hot springs cured her fungus toenail) Canyonland, Arches, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Badlands, Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, the mall of America and explored the North Shore scenic drive in Minnesota before going home. Left on 12 June and got back on 9 July. I think overall an excellent vacation. We did it without a tow car and never had a problem parking the RV in the parks or the downtowns we visited. Only regret is badlands. We spent 3 nights at the badlands/white river KOA. One night would of been enough. Maybe got spoiled from the previous parks but didn’t find it 3 nights worth.
  4. Yes we did. At it was posted at the destination forum. This post was more to introduce myself to the group.
  5. Yes the reservations for madison campsite and Moab Valley RV resort are confirmed. First 2 nights of travel, thinking of sleeping in a rest stop. No toad, will try to be nimble. I had no problems so far moving around in the Qwest.
  6. I am an electrical engineer getting started on the RV lifestyle. I have a wife and 2 college boys. We did our first RV trip with a rental class C in December to Gulf Shores AL. Recently bought a 2019 Entegra Qwest and been practicing each weekend (Montesano SP, Guntersville SP, Rock Island State Park, Fall Creeks Fall SP, Cloudland Canyon SP) to get ready for the Yellowstone NP in June. This weekend is Elm Hill RV resort. I think the best part of RVing so far for me is getting the whole family (4+ goldendoodle) out of the house to enjoy the outdoors, too much technology keeping them inside. Here is my itinerary so far for the trip to Yellowstone (trying for a month): 1.Huntsville ->(2 days drive) Glenwood Hotsprings (1 night stay) 2. Glenwood Hotsprings -> Moab Valley RV resort (3 nights stay) visit Arches NP and Canyons NP 3. Moab Valley RV resort -> Madison Campground Yellowstone (5 nights stay) -> bought a Jackery 1000 and Dokio 300 watts solar panel to supplement RV battery 4. not sure yet but looking at Glacier, Badlands, Mt Rushmore then going home
  7. It is Sprint. I got it from FMCA. Shipping was real quick, 2-3 days from order.
  8. I just got the MIFI and getting good results. I got it for a trip in June. Any recommendation on antenna on the MIFI? Thanks.
  9. 4 1/2 years US Army - 6 months extra because of Stop Loss Desert Storm 98GKP - Electronic Warfare Korean Linguist Fort Lost in the Woods, Goodfellow AFB, Schofield Bks
  10. It is the cheap version but works well. It is a Segway ninebot with a handle that is bought separately. I even take it to the golf course. I like it better than a electric bicycle. I took it to Gulf Shores, Montesano, Guntersville, Rock Island and Fall creek Falls state parks.
  11. Really appreciate all the responses. Yes not much planning and will try to make more reservations but it is hard right now. Hopefully luck and possible boondocking might is an option. My RV is 25ft long, I can pretty much go anywhere. I am a newbie and will try to learn more. Yeah probably Glacier is a nogo.
  12. No only reservation is Yellowstone so far. Just getting started on the schedule. I think I got lucky on Yellowstone, hopefully more luck is in store for me. I was wanting feedback if there was a better route with different things that are better to stop at. Also need suggestions on the route back. Also thinking Glacier National Park after Yellowstone.
  13. Thanks. No not retired yet. I need to get the kids out of college first. I am not going to tow. I am going to keep it simple as possible. Between the family there are various mode of transportation (onewheel, segway, electric bike).
