Has your coach been used for target practice?
elkhartjim replied to NotSoFast's topic in General Discussion
Carl, the OP stated that during his visit "this past month" there were 9 other coaches there with similar damage. I would think this would be major news in the rving industry. -

Maybe its simply a financial situation. Think how much money the DOD can save by targeting expensive motorhomes rather than a military drone. -
Byron, other than the death wobble, what are "the many problems that Jeeps as toads have" you're referring too. If you never experienced the death wobble then you can't appreciate why we call it that. Enjoy your Subie but don't try to keep up with the Jeeps.😁

Rogue pilots? -
Yep...some have the dreaded death wobble and some don't. I have a 2005 TJ and I've recently had a 2014 JKU and a 2016 JKU with no death wobble issues.

Flat towing 2019 Jeep Cherokee
elkhartjim replied to Johnston's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
"Answer, I doubt it very seriously. Just look at how long it took them to come up with the wiring harness (which hasn't been that successful from what I hear) and they still say there isn't a problem." Herman Mullins Exactly. This is a major problem they have yet to own up too and most likely never will.- 14 replies

There you go, Carl, find you a DeLorean and use the doors to cover the front. Of course you will need to do some sanding to get it to shine. -

It was one heck of a salesman who sold manufacturers on using Diamond Shield. Herman, you got off easy. -

Do you have Diamond Shield on the front of your MH, Wayne? Unfortunately I do and they recommend applying 303 monthly or after every washing. -

Tip For Keeping Your Black Water Tank Clean
elkhartjim replied to santacarver's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
Ridex supposedly introduces more bacteria in a residential septic system, yet many critics claim there is no benefit of using this product. What we RV'ers should accept is our holding tanks are just that - holding tanks. They are not septic tanks where bacteria is allowed to break down the waste. The only thing I've done in all the years of RVing is use plenty of water. I've never used any chemicals to perfume the waste. I do clean the tanks a couple of times a year using the Geo method. Please Google it if you're not familiar with it. -
I suggest you make a plant tour of both and then make a decision. Have you driven a Newmar with Comfort Drive?

Dump stations at rest stops
elkhartjim replied to studebrucer's question in Destinations/Attractions
Many of the Pilot/Flying J Truck Stops have fee paid dump stations. -
And its most likely a 4K TV, I believe the 4K is now the standard TV in all the Newmar pushers.

Move further south. 😎 -
Carl, their customer service is available 24/7. I have called the number assigned to my customer service rep and it rolls over to their cell phone after hours. I've only called once around 7 pm on a Friday, left a message and had a return call within 10 minutes. Best part is not only did they resolve my issue but I swear you can hear the smile on their face over the phone.

I've been having a problem with my Whirlpool washing machine recently. The drum rubbed a hole in the tub so Whirlpool replaced it but it took over 6 weeks from the time Newmar contacted them to make the first service call, order and receive parts and return to do the install. They then diagnosed the motor was bad and needed replacing. They couldn't get a motor until Oct 23 and then it may be up to 2 weeks before they could return to do the installation. I sent Erica, my assigned Newmr customer service rep, an email politely stating my frustration. I spoke to her around 7 Wednesday morning. She had a couple of questions and said she would get back to me in a couple of hours. Being a lady of her word she called in 1 1/2 hours telling me they would be shipping me the current Whirlpool they are using in the 2019's. She contacted the independent shop I've used for warranty issues to expect the washer next week and authorized them to install the new machine. Here's the kicker, the machine was over a month out of warranty. Again, Newman customer service outshines any company I've done business with in the last several years. I received an email from Erica yesterday afternoon with the pro number and will take delivery next Tuesday. Thank you Erica and thank you Newmar for taking care of your customers.
