Thanks, Brett. I've always wondered what that clinking noise was and now I know.

FYI...
Mark's original post was made March 2013. Hopefully others will benefit from all the research that you guys have done.

Check RV Park Reviews. I may be difficut finding a park in MN open this time of year.

The compressor is mounted on the engine. The air tanks are mounted berween the frame rails near the front. You most likely have an electrical issue rather than an air issue.
-
I have two available and you must take both.

Hi Bill,
I'm just curous, what are you trying to accomplish?
Thanks,
-
This is the one Rich is referring to.

JT,
There are probably as many different battery hold-down clips as there are makes and models of motorhomes. You may get a more definitive answer if you include year, make and model of the motorhome in your post.
First thought is to contact the rv manufacturer.

You may as well dump the air as it will only be a matter of time the air bags will leak down.

Stevislick,
Can you give more details on your comment "you will need to make sure the dealer installs the correct base plate designed to work with the adaptive cruise sensors". According to the Blue Ox website and the etrailer website, Blue Ox cannot furnish a baseplate for a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit. Also, the Summit is available in a two wheel drive model which cannot be towed four down or on a dolly, it must be trailer towed.
-
Roadmaster sells a towbar bracket adapter to adapt a Roadmaster baselplate to a Blue Ox towbar.
-
Blue Ox does not make a baseplate for this Jeep at this time. There may be issues towing a 2-wheel drive Jeep four down.

So you are driving on 3 original tires (8-9 year old) mixed in with 3 new tires. That may be the reason for unusual tire wear plus running at 107 psi/ 100 psi seems to be over inflated by quite a bit.
Are you saying you have three different wheel sizes on your motorhome? I've seen two but never three unless the steer tires are one size, the drive tires another size and the tag tires another.
I wish you well having the tires around enough years to get that 150,000 miles - whats that, another 12-15 years? please keep us updated on how that works out for you.
Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

I'm only saying that my 2005 Wrangler Sport (2door, TJ) rides much rougher than the 2014 Wrangler Sport (4 Door, JKU). The TJ is lifted with off road tires. The JKU is my daily driver.

If the wiper arm doesn't have a nut securing it to the stud, there will be a clip to slide back to release the wiper arm. Use a wide flat blade screw driver or some sort of pry bar with a small block of wood under the bar to provide a fulcrum.
Both the wiper arm and stud are multi-splined for adjustment. Check to make sure you don't move the arm too far or it will move too far the other direction.

I don't understand why people are complaining about having to enter their birthdate in their profile.
I have been trying to figure out how someone can use your birthday to do you any harm.
There are sophisticated computer programs that harvest this sort of information. A birthdate here, a city here, a state there, a street someplace else, etc. Did you know, when you post a phone number and/or email address, it is very easy to harvest that information. Have you noticed some posters will post their phone number in this format - one, 2, three, 1, two, etc or email address joe schmo at fmca dot net?

As far as fuel mileage, I've towed a Toyota Avalon with a dolly, a Chevrolet Malibu and now the Jeeps. I saw no noticeable difference in mileage towing with my 38', 325hp pusher. Have you driven the Jeep Compass? I can tell you from experience, the shorter the wheel base the less comfortable the ride.
I encourage you to join the Jeep Compass forum for some first hand information on the Compass.

I would start by checking campgrounds in the areas you're interested in on http://www.rvparkreviews.com/.
Each listing will have the campground website which should give dates of operation.
Sorry, can't help you with the weather.

I have a Jeep TJ and Jeep JKU that I tow but both are automatic. You might want to join one of the Jeep forums to get some direct experience or one of the more active RV forums such as iRV2.
I would think if the manual gives a towing procedure the Jeep is towable but I will caution you that Jeep manuals are notorious about publishing wrong information.
Good luck and I understand wanting to find an owner with direct experience towing a Jeep Compass.
BTW...is this a 4-wheel drive? Sorry I'm not familiar with the Compass.
There is a forum specific to Jeep Compass.
-
"I also found a 2012 Jeep Compass owners manual online and it seems to say that the manual transmission is OK to tow."
If the online manual states its OK, does it give you the procedure to go through?

I agree with Kingfr, especially regarding the time.
I installed a base plate on a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu that entailed removing the facia, headlamps plus other "stuff" and drilling a couple holes as I recall. It took less than 3 hours. I installed the Blue Ox diode tail light system that took about and hour, installed a M&G Brake that was another hour.

FYI, Bill.
This was posted January, 2014, and the poster never signed back on after making the post.

Remember to join FCOC during your visit in Gaffney to obtain the 10% discount.

It is less expensive than most dealers at $85/hour and because they are much more familiar with the chassis they take less time performing the service. Also, join the FCOC and receive a 10% discount.

Thats sort of like asking which is better, vanilla or chocolate ice cream. If they are both towable four down, then whichever one you like the best.
