  1. In the end we are all the same, Campers enjoying life.
  2. Ed Welcome, and glad you enjoyed the GLASS Rally. It was great weather, good food and entertainment. We belong to a group called The Hoosier Crusiers and in our group we have every size motorhome out there so don't be afraid to get involved in a group or other rallys. The people will be just like you experienced at Glass. Chuck
  3. I could not get in for the first 45 minutes. I kept on trying and finally connected. Must have been a bunch of people trying to get on and overloaded the site. This was a good idea and I enjoyed the last half of the program. I think it needs to be tried again sometime.
  4. Tom, I agree with you. I happen to work for my inlaws and we build bridges. People would have a heart attack if they knew how bad some of the bridges are they are driving over. The I-35 bridge cost was between $300 to $350 million dollars to replace and I would think anything in the Bay Area would be substantially more. Therefore, it will take a lot of $20 tolls to help pay for any replacement. If we want to keep traveling in our motorhomes like we do now, roads and bridges will have to be updated.
  5. Brett, Thank you for your imput, as once again, i learned some more about my Allison Transmission from this forum. I like Jay had the same questions a few years ago. The dealers do not give a buyer to much information when you make your big purchase. Once again thanks for sharing your knowlege, with everyone on the different forums that you are on, it is appreciated. Happy Holidays.
  6. WG: I would like to add that my parents wintered in the RGV for 3 yrs after my dad retired and then when my mother retired they moved there permanently for 13 more years. They ended up selling their TT and bought a Park Model. They also did as Tom mentioned, became Managers and Assitant Managers of the three parks they stayed at, two small and one very large. They loved the area the weather the people and all the activities. I am one year from retiring and i am sure my motorhome will find its way to the RGV.
  7. Thanks Wayne, I was hoping that was the case. The satellite people must have wanted to sell two receivers. I did not want to unhook both of the receivers in the house if i didn't have to. My winter project is to replace both tv's with new HD flat screens. I will only have to change the opening for my old receiver to fit the DVR and cable is already run to the bedroom tv. I will need a new dish for HD but i think i will leave that to someone who knows more about it than me. Thanks again, Chuck
  8. Wayne I see by your post that you use your DVR. My question is do you use it for both your living room and bedroom tv's and can you watch two different channels at the same time. The reason i ask is at fmca the satellite people told me that it would not work and i would need two different receivers. I have two in my house and my DVR runs two tv's so i don't know why it wouldn't work in the MH. Thanks Chuck
  9. Welcome fellow Beaver Owner, I hope you enjoy your coach as much as we do ours. We have a 02, 37' 2 slide Patriot. When you have a chance check out the Beaver Ambassador Club at http://beaveramb.org Chuck
  10. We have gone both routes when going to FMCA rallys and conventions, so it comes down to what you want to spend. We chose electric this time because it gets hot and humid in the Midwest in july and we take our dog. Your generator should not burn that much fuel during your stay. My diesel generator uses very little over four to five days. One thing I'll tell you from past experience: Come with full water tank, empty gray and black holding tanks, and conserve your water it is amazing how fast the gray tank can fill up. There will be people on-site to pump your tanks if needed, for a fee. I hope you and your family have a fun rally. Chuck
