  1. There are some steep grades up and down once you get west of Denver but some beautiful scenery through Vail and then as you go through Glenwood Canyon. Once you get past Glenwood Springs I don't remember there being anything scary. The road from Denver all the way to I-15 is all 4 lane highway and easy to drive this time of year as long as you take your time. Coming out of the Eisenhower tunnel is a steep grade down for several miles but as long as you keep your speed under control it should not be an issue. There is a 100 mile stretch in Utah that I remember there are no fuel stations so make sure you have enough Enjoy
  2. I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and had my tow bar set up by a Mechanic at the dealership where I bought the Jeep. He install a separate power line from battery for my Brake Buddy. He told me that all power in my Jeep is completely off when I tow it so I have not had any issues with any type of wobble, to quote him he told me I am towing a brick, it is completely shut off. I have a push button start and my only concern was after a long day towing when i disconnect my brake buddy the brake pedal is hard to push down, which you need to do to start the Jeep.
  3. I also have induction heat cook top and it will not work with the dryer running but otherwise it is fine. Make sure you are using induction heat pots and pans, use a magnet to determine if they will work. If they are magnetic you are good to go. Mine works on 30 or 50 amp and we really like the system, it also works on my invertor.
  4. There is Cherry Creek Campground at the reservoir, just off of 225. it is a nice campground the only issue is if you have a toad they charge you each day when you return to your campground. We would leave and not come back until after 5 when they close the entry shack, but you can still get in. Their is another campground off of 225 and Colfax which I think is a KOA. There is another one in Monument Hill which is about 40 minutes south. They are the only ones I am familiar with except the 2 that are east of Denver off of 70 but I have not stayed at those
  5. I have a residential refrigerator and had a similar problem recently but my issue was I found a couple of chunks of ice that did not fall completely into the holding tray and were preventing the mechanism from operating. Once I remove the ice, it has worked fine since. In the past I have experienced ice makers not working because of low water pressure and one time I even had the back of the ice maker freeze. I used a hair dryer to defrost the ice and it worked fine after that. Hope you find a solution to your issue
  6. I have a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and have not had any issues with the wobble so far but will certainly be aware of the potential. I thank you for making me aware of this. Hope it doesn't happen but if it does I will know what it is and what to do.

    Tire Pressure

Herman, the gauge that I bought from my daughters boyfriend is made by Matco Tools, DT4B 3.5 digital Tire Inflator with hose, and I was wrong it is accurate to 0.1PSI, which is what it says on the box, however inside the box I have a Accuracy Certificate which says at Air Pressure 0-58 accuracy is +/- 1.2 psi and Air Pressure 59-174 psi accuracy is +/- 2.0. He used this at his shop and after struggling with cheap gauges and compressors I decided it was worth the money to get something that filled my tires quickly and accurately. I am totally pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone

    Tire Pressure

Brett, good suggestion and that is my plan. My daughters boyfriend is a mechanic and I bought a gauge from him that I attached to my air compression and clips onto valve stem to fill tires and it is guaranteed to be accurate within .002 of a pound. I will use it before we head back so I don't have to worry the entire time back

    Tire Pressure

Thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions, we arrived in Florida with the TPMS showing pressure as high as 135 but coach ran fine and we had no issues. I have decided that I do not believe my TPMS anymore and will only use it for alarms for fast loss of pressure or overheating. It has never had readings like this before so maybe the cold winter we had in Pa damaged it in some way. We are here and it is nice, thanks again for your help and suggestions...time or a strong cold beverage

    Tire Pressure

Thank you for this information, in traveling last night my TPMS registered up to 130 PSI with the tire temperature in the low 70's. I have not checked them today yet ans we are getting a late start. However we are heading to Florida where the temperatures will be higher than the 60's we have experienced so far. What should I do?

    Tire Pressure

Brett, OK thank you, at what pressure would it be considered unsafe?

    Tire Pressure

Thanks for all your help, I picked my coach up from Cummins and the temperature outside is now in the 60's and the side of the coach facing the sun is now reading 122 and the tire temperature was in the upper 70's. I need one more bit of information to ease my mind. The max pressure on the side of the wheels is 120 at what point/pressure reading on my TPMS should I consider lowering the air pressure in my tires.

    Tire Pressure

I had my coach weighed and determined I wanted to run my tires with 110 lbs all the way around. With temperature around 50 degrees TPMS shows I have 110 all the way around. This was in the afternoon of a cloudy day before I moved my coach. The next morning with the temperature in the 40's and sunny, I started my coach to take it to Cummins for annual state inspection and oil change. As the tires warmed up, averaged about 50 degrees the pressure in the tire on my TPMS showed 117 in 4 of the tires, 113 in one inside dual and 114 in the other inside dual. My question is this increase iin tire pressure normal and if so how high would it have to go before I should worry. Planning a trip to Florida tomorrow and wondering if I am good to go. Tires are Michelin 295 x 80r x 22.5 Appreciate any help or thoughts on this issue.
  14. I have Good Sam and although I have not used them too often (thank God) but when I did they were there in a reasonable amount of time and did what they could to get me going again. Even helped my son who was stranded with a dead battery in his car, when the roadside assistance I had with my auto insurance was not responsive at all. I dropped them since I was doubled covered anyway (i know not smart).
  15. DBH, I am shocked that you have been treated this way, especially when you think of the price of the coach you purchased. I have to believe there is only a very small percentage of the RV Population who could afford to pay cash for a coach in that price range. With that said AC has to know statistically they have a very small customer base and you would think they would do everything they can to make sure someone like you is as pleased as you can be with your purchase. Who knows in a couple of years you may want to trade for another one. I am certainly not in that price range but I have purchased more RV's than I would care to admit. I had some issues with my coach when I bought it new but 2 trips to the factory and a good relationship with some of the key players at Thor turned me from a very unhappy customer to a satisfied one. Somehow I think you have not gotten to the right person in their organization and I think if you ever do he or she will do all they can to make you happy. OF course I am the eternal optimist. Good Luck
  16. Bill, sometimes I don't push it but most of the time when I do it is only because I enjoy driving it not that I am pushing any type of deadline. BUT I agree I need to back off and take it easier.
  17. I have to do all the driving as my DW refuses to do any of it. She says this coach is too big for her to drive. In PA you need a Class B non Commercial Drivers license, so with her current license she would not be legal anyway. I really enjoy driving but sometimes push it longer than I should. I am not sure I could relax if she wanted to drive anyway so I am good with the way we are doing it now.
  18. Ricky, welcome to RVing, I think you will enjoy more than the old bike days
  19. Had the same issue until I mentioned it on this forum and turned off my antenna booster and everything is good once I did that Good Luck
  20. OK After reading all of your great review on the Wash Wax product I ordered a kit on Amazon which comes with the wax mop, cloths, solution, and will let everyone know what I think when I receive it and use it. I have used other waterless products and have been happy with results but it was always difficult using a ladder to get to the high places. Kit was not cheap but if it works like everyone is claiming it will be worth it. The kit is called The Waterless Aircraft, RV boat wax mop kit and it was shipped to me yesterday.
  21. Jleamont, got your personal message, I have not tried this campground but I knew it was there. It is a lot bigger than I thought it was and for this area rates are not bad. Let me know when you are going maybe I will meet you there.
  22. There was a long blog about the Ford Fusion and whether or not it can be towed 4 wheels down. I had a 2011 and as soon as I read all the problems owners were having I traded it for a Jeep. It has been a while but I remember other owners saying that as long as it was under warranty Ford was covering the new transmissions but once out of warranty you were on your own. Not sure of the accuracy of the information I read because Ford still says you can tow it 4 wheels down, but personally I was not taking any chances and got out before I had any issues.
  23. Carl, although I have been living full time in my coach, I have not yet retired. I am thinking about it everyday so i know I am getting close. I like you do ever anticipate getting bored visiting all the wonderful places in this great country of ours. I just have to make the decision and set a date and be done with it, maybe soon Hope that I am able to enjoy 32 years after retirement and would also hope the money would last that long...lol
  24. When I started this post I was hoping for more stories as we all seem to have very similar start to the RVing lifestyle
  25. We stayed at Walnut Grove Campground last year in Jan, Feb & March. It is off of I-35 and Johnson Drive. A very basic campground that does not even have picnic tables but owners are very nice and location is good. Almost like a parking lot with hookups but it worked for us.
