  1. I don't have much to share. The info I've seen so far, supports what I expected for answers. I'm highly confident that our testing standards ensure that we met and exceeded customer expectations with regards to transmission specific dinghy towing durability.

    I've compiled some of the data. I'll have to revisit it, recompile and potentially post a plot of the info sometime in the future.

    Thanks for the reply. I expected that GM knew how we treated our toads. I was hoping to see GM allowing something like the Cruze to be towed. Hopefully, GM will design more options for the towing community.


  2. It looks like Nevada is trying to make Rvers pay for a sticker if you stay more than 31 days. What is interesting is that at the end of the story is an interview that state that Laughlin tried something similar and the story went national due to RVers and they still haven't recovered.

    LAUGHLIN; Young retirees and seniors alike who call Nevada their home away from home could soon be paying a premium for the privilege of temporarily residing in the Silver State if proponents of Assembly Bill 405 have their way.

    Currently, any individual 10 years of age or older who resides in Nevada for a period of 31 or more consecutive days is required to obtain a "seasonal" identification card, although it's doubtful that most snowbirds are even aware of that requirement.

  3. Yes, welcome to PennDOT. I also was told by the dealer that I did not need a special license to drive my 28000 pound Bounder when I purchased it new.

    While reading these forums some time ago I was surprised to learn that a non commercial Class B was needed. I have a CDL so I was OK but that was all my wife needed to know so that she doesn't have to learn to drive the RV. Ask a State Trooper and you will find few that know of the requirement. I have to visit the Troopers when renewing my CDL every 4 years and that is how I can say that few that know of the requirement.

    Dealers should know and should disclose. I wonder what would happen if you had a serious accident and the insurance company found out that you did not have the proper license.


  4. I had DISH for one month last year. I told them that I was in an RV and wanted the "Pay as you Go" program. They never asked for proof of an RV. They said I would get my local channels but I did not after leaving my home area . When I called them about the local channels, they said they could not understand why I wasn't getting them. I tried to explain the RVing concept to them but with no luck. After nearly 30 minutes on the phone, I gave up. It would be nice if DISH provided a true description of their service and a dedicated phone number.


  5. Yes, we did set the pressure with PSI knob on the intial install. We drove the MH with toad attached in a large parking lot for the intial adjustment. We then went on the road and did a few "fine tuning" adjustments. It works fine. I also check the toad brakes daily.

    When I installed the unit I did test the connection and it worked. I know I should have tested the switch by pulling the pin.


  6. It was suggested to me that I should test the breakaway switch by pulling the pin. I did that this morning.

    Wow, I'm glad I tested the breakaway switch. I pullled the pin and nothing happened! I then disconnected the wires to it and connected them together to bypass the switch. It worked.

    I will call Roadmaster when they open this morning and get a new breakaway switch. I will admit that I never tested the brakaway when I installed the unit.

    I am trying to find out if the person who made the suggestion had a problem with their breakaway switch or not.

    I am happy to report that I no longer have the hard brake pedal problem.

    I put the following statement in to cover all possible causes. "Either the Invisibrake unit is malfunctioning, the design has a flaw or there was a leak in my system that was repaired."

    I was really unhappy with the tech at Roadmaster. He couldn't give me a solution so he just brushed me off.

    My feeling is that the invisibrake unit can leak vacuum when it is off or the line to the unit can be more that the car can compensate for when the engine is under a load.

    The system works correctly now since I installed a one way vacuum stop in the line to the invisibrake.


  8. I finally had the opportunity to test the make shift vacuum stop I installed on the line to the Invisibrake.

    I am happy to report that I no longer have the hard brake pedal problem.

    Either the Invisibrake unit is malfunctioning, the design has a flaw or there was a leak in my system that was repaired.

    Everyone with an Invisibrake should test their car for this potentially dangerous problem.


  9. I disconnected the invisibrake vacuum line and attached my vacuum gauge for a test drive to get a baseline. I discovered two things. First, my vacuum gauge, which has been sitting idle for a few years, no longer operates. Second, I could not recreate the hard pedal problem.

    I have been testing on a section of highway near my home which has a steep grade and I can get three or four tests while on it. I reconnected the invisibrake line and the problem returned. I am now putting together a vacuum break using a pvc valve. I'll not be able to test it because of the heavy rain today.
