With the cost of fuel so high I figured I would see more topics on converting to natural gas.
Can this be done?

Ok all systems are go. Steps work fine however now I notice a loud click when the steps come out and a loud click when they retract.
Anybody else experiencing this phenomenon?

Two responses said to hit it with a hammer so I figured a vast majority of RVers couldn't be wrong .
I bopped it with a ball peen hammer and what do you know it works great.

I unplugged motor and hit it with juice frame the charger.
All it did was spark.

Did the control unit just stop without any warning?
Were you able to open the wiring harness connector?

Entry steps have been working like a champ ever since I purchased motorhome. No reason to suspect any issues.
I needed to go uptown for fuel and did not notice that steps did not retract.
1. does not retract when door closed
2. Nothing happens when ignition is on
3. I know it must be getting power as bottom light works when fuse is in and does not work when fuse is out.
4. Tried to pull harness apart but it is either sealed really well or it is not meant to come apart.
5. Would the motor just up and die with no warning?

All fixed
I was able to saw the cover plate over the channel .
Found the hole in the pipe and cut it out. Put a new coupler on the line and we are functional again.
Put floor down for second time and we are on to the next project

Thanks for the response.
Turns out there is a Channel that runs from the water outlet to the shower. The water lines sit in this channel and there is a 1/4 inch board screwed on top the channel. Since the board is only 1/4 thick the roofing nail went thru. All of the other nails went into 3/4 plywood.
I pulled up the tile and will pull up the channel cover. Hopefully it will be a quick fix from that point on.
Quite a lesson learned about how these things are put together.

Here is what happened.
The Discovery layout has the living area then a shower sink and bathroom all together.
I did not like the carpet in the shower and sink area so when I removed the toilet I decided to pull the carpet and tile from the bath and replace with a floating floor.
In order to make the tile even with the carpeted living area we put down 1/4 inch plywood.
We put a few very short roofing nails in the wood to hold it down and I suspect we nicked a water line.
Not a very smart thing to do. The question is - can I cut out the floor in the suspect area and repair the hose as it sits without replacing it?

I hate to keep starting new topics. However I just replaced toilet and had everything hooked up turned on the pump and now I hear water running somewhere under the floor. It is draining onto the drive so it is at least not bringing water into the coach floor.
Anybody know how to access water lines without tearing out floor.
Coach is 1999 Fleetwood Discovery.

I loosened the screws a little.
There is another gasket that goes around the outside.
It is probably worn also.
Will call tech support tomorrow.
Would have been much better to replace toilet.

Not sure why I took on this project.
Ordered a new seal for aqua magic toilet.
Took everything apart replaced seal and the plastic housing that holds the blade has 18 screws holding 2 pieces together.
When I tighten the screws down the blade is very hard to open and close.
I put everything back in same order. So can't understand why the blade gets jammed up on the reinstall.
Anyone have any experience with this type of issue.
It is an aqua magic aura model.

I have a lot of precious cargo ( grand kids) when we travel and I can see that the tires are the most important safety feature on the vehicle.
Had no idea of the potential hazards since the tires look so good.

I had to crawl under coach to find dot # .
Looks like it is 2102 so it make them 10 years old.
Will the fact that the coach as been parked inside for that time period have any effect ?
I am trying to justify not buying new tires but would rather err on the side of safety.

Ok , I see the point and Iam very glad I have joined in the information on these forums.
Now that I am educated and have a possible hazardous situation on my hands can I dismount the tires and verify the integrity before I replace 3 or 4 thousand worth of tires?

What great information.
I haven't had the coach that long but since I started reading the forum and saw the importance of tire pressure I checked the tires and they were around 55 pounds. Increased pressure to 90 for my trip and the next day it was 28 degrees . Tire pressure went to 80. Stopped and reinflated to 90 for the ride home.
540 miles.
A few hundred miles into trip air in tires was heating up and pressure went to 95.
Based on your reply it may be the under inflation is a factor.

I will check the shocks. since the coach is ten years old it would not hurt to replace. Is there a recommended brand ? I want the best available.
If I could get by with a balance and rotation that would be even better.

The motorhome is currently In south Louisiana.

The edge of the front tires are smooth with dips all around.
It is a solid axle . Any idea what would cause this type of wear.
All other parts of tires are great.

I have a 36 foot Discovery and noticed that the front tires are cupped on the outside of each tire.
A little research on the net and it seems that this condition suggests that the camber is out of adjustment. Where is the best place for alignment ? A regular Firestone type store or a truck dealer. Ideally it would be somewhere that I could buy new tires if need be.
By the way I just put the steer safe brackets on the coach prior to a 500 mile trip. I noticed the tires after the trip and hadn't really noticed the cupping before. could the steer safe have affected the tire wear?

I was reading a thread about the steer safe product and as I recently purchased a DP
I was looking under the front to see if by chance there was any stabilizer installed on my coach.
What I did see was a big radiator type fan right in front of the front axle.
Does anyone know what this is used for?

Looks like you basically replace motor. Doesn't, look like a great payback opportunity.
