RE : Tengo Internet : I have been RV ing for about 10 years . After spending two weeks at Woodland Lakes in Texas .... and the poor internet connection and service. The only time I have internet trouble is when the park has hired Tengo Internet to manage the wifi and make the park a little more money. I don't mind paying for internet service .... but when you pay and the service is so bad it is not usable. I am now to the point that if I arrive at an RV park and they tell me they have Tengointernet ... I will get back in my RV and drive on down the road to the next RV park. -
I believe norcold is just trying to sell new refrigerators .... things must be slow for them , with the economy turn down. My second recall lasted one weekend .... I called norcold and was told to go back and have it check and I would probably need a new unit (refrigerator) .... so I will disconect the wires from the box and run it without the mod

Are you sure it is not a dead mouse ... or other rodent .... I have had many of them in my coach.
-
I have had many of these burn out ... they have all had either a small bulb or neon bulb. I replace them with 12 volt LED, that are available at Radio Shack for a couple of dollar. The front red cover will pop off and the leads can be soldered in. An LED will last a lot longer than a bulb, draws less power, and is cooler.
-
My coach has a power management computer which monitors the power draw and the input power and has four relays inside of the main power panel. It shuts down select circuits in sequence. I have had similar problems and it turned out to be a bad relay in the main panel. The shut down sequence is set up by the Mfg. Mine turns off the Washer first, water heater second ... front AC third ......... Yours may have the rear AC and the charger on the same circuit. Good luck finding the problem.

What do you use as an antenna with the bullet m2? Do you know if the bullet will run DD-WRT software ? thanks Marv.
-
No ,,, I set this up with DD-WRT software ... it has a setting for repeating the signal of the campground. http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page I don't often need the external antenna, only when the signal is week.

I use a Buffalo HP (WHR Hp 54G) I use this one because it has an external antenna connection and a built in amplifier: http://www.amazon.com/Buffalo-Technology-Wireless-G-Antenna-WHR-HP-G54/dp/B000AOKTJ8 With a high gain antenna attached to router and placed on the RV roof or a smaller antenna on the dash. http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=416 The best looking (I have not tried it yet) I have found is :Ubiquiti Bullet M2 High Power. There are several modeles of this device, different frequency range , make sure it is wifi they can be found at many suppliers across the country , just google it . http://www.ubnt.com/bulletm Processor Specs Atheros MIPS 24KC, 400MHz Memory Information 32MB SDRAM, 8MB Flash Networking Interface 1 X 10/100 BASE-TX (Cat. 5, RJ-45) Ethernet Interface You will also need an antenna to attach to it.There are many on Ebay this one is omnidirectional : this is a good low cost wifi antenna (on Ebay for under $20 at times) http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=416 Or a directional one: http://www.buffalotech.com/products/wireless/wireless-accessories/14-dbi-high-gain-outdoor-directional-antenna/ Or an omnidirectional : http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=52

I have not laughed this hard in a long time . LOL LOL LOL

I have been an auto mechanic for 30 years ... and have never thought of a plastic bag to remove the filter to prevent fluid running down your arm (guess I am just a slow learner). Thanks for the tip.

This is almost as good as a James Paterson mystery story..... I bet the fuel filter is plugged again .... A tank of bad fuel. Having had this same problem on my last trip. I had to change a fuel filter on the side of the road about a mile from the Eisenhower Tunnel in Colorado ... I was down to 10 mile per hr. This is the second time I had this happen to me. (I am a slow learner) I now carry a pair of filters with me. I am getting good at this .... it took less that 20 min. and I was back on the road. I have great sympathy for you Jim. I will be watching for Chapter 10.

I went back to Pilot web site and found this : What is Pump Start and how do I get it? Pump Start allows you to start the fuel pumps using your Frequent Fueler Advantage RV Card – or your RV Real Value Card (if you are currently using one). To get the Pump Start feature, you must register your card at the cashier’s counter at any Flying J or Pilot location. After you have purchased 500 or more gallons from Flying J and / or Pilot, we will activate your card for Pump Start. You can see how many gallons you have purchased toward your Pump Start activation qualification by logging into your Frequent Fueler Advantage RV account online, at www.FrequentFuelerAdvantage.com, by checking your account at the in-store Driver Kiosk asking a manager at your closest Pilot or Flying J. So I guess pump start is NOT automatically turned on when you register. It will take me several years to get to 500 gallons. So that is not much of a feature for me. Best place to fuel up today is Wal-Mart ... where they have a fuel station. Good Price ... discount if you use there cash card ... and most of them are big enought to get in with a 40 foot and towing.

It appears that the target has moved again .... I just registered my card on line, in case I do want to pay more and stop at a FJ All went well .... except I got this message : Pump Start is only available to customers paying with cash, check or credit cards. Pump Start can only be requested at a store. Please present your drivers license to a cashier to request Pump Start. Close An unexpected error has occurred. Card Number Status Gallons From Goal 77000717xxxx Activated 0 Transaction History for 77000717xxxx Close From 10/21/2010 To 4/20/2011 Location Date Gallons 644 03/09/2011 - Not sure what all this means

I purchased a used Monaco from them several years ago. They had made many repairs to the used unit .... every one of them had to be redone .... I would never do any kind of business with them again. Of course, that is just my opinion.
