  1. I wonder about this topic when trailers came to one of the last FMCA we attended. Some where 5th wheels some trailers and of course mostly motor homes. Also there where alot of those workers; and distributor's that worked there did not have motorhomes. Now, the question to all what was your first campout equipment.????? I started on the ground in a tent; than to a pop-up camper, to a pull behind trailer, and now in a Jayco class C motor home. Started camping around 1965 to present. As I got older, we advanced up to the motor home. So, we most all remember where we started. With that being said these rally's ETC; are for any one to attend, So park the traiers pull behind together. This would include pop-ups, trailers and 5th wheels. NOW TO THE ENDING POINT To belong to Family Motor Coach, requires a motor home of any type, at this time. I think we need to maintain this. If FMCA would of offered a Life Membership again that would be a nice topic to discuss. I am a life member of all groups i belong to. We do not deny others to attend at the gate why would we deny entrance to participate. For whatever this is my two cents. WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tim Stookey F405095
  2. We have a class C Jayco Ford v-10 and tow a HHR behind us. I average about 2 miles per gallon better pulling Versa solo. Now, we must remember we tow at about 60-62 mph SOLO we are not limited to speed so the RPM go up as well as speed, and mpg goes down. So, I would say don't worry about the tow vechicle, drive with what you have and be Safety First. A Ford V-10 uses gas for sure, SO who cares just tow the toad, at least you know at all times you have a car and would not even think of chasing a rental car location. Tim FM 405095

  4. Being a first timer and new to FMCA I wish to get all ideas about storage of the rv for the winter and matter of fact anytime. To clarify, what is the right way to store the tires on contact with any surface. I will tell you, What I have heard is off the ground. On a piece of wood. many different kinds where mention. OAK recommended On some mud flap's off a semi. Do not store on Grass or mud, put something down to row up on. Do not park on concrete for extended times storage in your side yard. Put the tires with a piece of plastic under them. So where is the TIREMAN9 engineer at. I meet him at the FMCA 82nd Rally at the seminar what a great forum. IT cost me a set of 6 NEW tires to be replace but my safety was in jeopardy, Tireman9; thank you. But , now they are all new tires, time to get this answer discuss above. ANY TAKERS.
