This question might have been asked but I am really getting confused. I just got a 2013 Honda CRV that I am going to flat tow behind a 2005 Winnebago Journey Diesel Pusher. I have the Blue Ox Aventa LX tow bar system.

My question is should I get a braking system? If so which one?

I know of Brake Buddy Patriot. Are their others?

We went towed a 13 CRV for years. It is a great TOAD that is lightweight.

I believe you could get away without one - but I tow with one because if I was ever in a wreck the guy with the big coach always gets sued.

    As to Braking systems

    - Brake Buddy Patriot as well as the Blue ox version of them suck. in/out/in/out.

Spend just a little more and get the Air Force one from SMI or another that requires you to do ZERO work every time you hook up.

We have 2 Air Force ones (on two separate tow cars) and love them. Fire and forget

Wrote an articles on it here - http://mhrig.com/2015/10/towing-what-we-use/

  2. Check out our Big Rig Map view out on our site - www.mhrig.com

Every site on the map has links back to bloggers reviews who have coaches that are over 40+ feet. You can tell which ones are on lakes by where they are on the map. one of my favorite would be Baldridge campground on Lake Lanier in cumming, ga. Grand Lake in florida and we are staying at Lake Greenwood next week (Review to follow)

Please let me know if you have any questions

"Dedicated to helping 40+ Footers find all the cool places to stay and things to do across North America"

We have created a map of North America only campgrounds that have been referenced and blogged about by other 40+ footers.

It is updated daily as bloggers add new info. We of course blog about our own stays and do video drone flyovers over the parks.

You will also like all the activities, restaurants, factory tours, festivals, all on the same map.

    Thanks
