  1. I recently purchased a 2022 Maverick Hybrid. Blu OX now makes the base plate. They say it's towable. Ford says it's towable but you have to follow a specific procedure. Mine will be outfitted 12 October and then I will know
  2. I had the same problem with a diamond shield bra on my 2007 Fleetwood Providence. In my research I found that 3M Specialty Adhesive Remover Aerosol #38987, I used 8 cans, was recommended and also some plastic razor blades and handle all available from amazon. It is time consuming and a lot of elbow grease but the paint isn't scratched and I just keep a of wax on the front of the coach.
  3. I have a 2011 Honda Crv and I installed a TOAD-CHARGE System. Simple hookup and is has a diode in the system with indicator lights to tell you it is connected properly, charging, reverse polarity. Haven't had a dead battery yet. 4 years so far.
  4. My experience with Samson tires: Ill try to make it short. DO NOT BUy CHEAP TIRES. I bought 6 275R70 22.5 and after 4 or 5 trips back and forth to the dealer I finally went to a truck stop to have the tires spin balanced and they couldn't balance them because they were out of round. ( the dealer had already replaced 2 because they were out of round) one trip back at a time. The 75 Truck Stop on Rt44 and 75 in Wildwood Florida dismounted them cleaned them out because of the bags of beads used to balance them, remounted them and trued them up then they could balance them. The total cost was $710.60. Within 1/4 of a mile the ride had extremely noticeable difference and back to the way my coach used to ride. I am now waiting some kind of refund from the dealer after notifying the general manger, Good Sam's Product Division and Camping World.
  5. I have a 2007 Fleetwood Providence and I also need to do something with the carpet and have been thinking of a laminate floor or something other than carpet. Please keep me posted.
  6. I have a 2007 Providence and the Frieghtliner dealer replaced the harnesses for about $500.00
  7. I also tried Gieco and was upfront about being involved in and accident," that was not my fault", and it happened in Mya of 2012 and everything was going well. The quote I received over the phone was less than I was paying and almost ready to close the deal when the representative said " Oh by the way if you want to have us as an insurance company, we will insure your RV but because of the accident we have to double your rate." I was shocked because the accident was not my fault. But the rep said "that's the way it is". Needless to say I didn't go with Gieco. I am now with Nat'l General and very happy with the rate.
  8. I have a 2007 Fleetwood Providence 39L with side directional light and they have helped out quite a few times as a lot of people out there like to hang out in the middle of the coach but the lights get their attention. I am going to change them to led though. Thanks for the info
  9. Homosassa, Florida mid to lowwwwww 20's tonight!
  10. With a car like that I would trailer it. It would be safer and probably less invasive to the car and easier on the pocket book.
  11. I use a "toad charge" system to keep my toad battery charged. Fairly easy install if you are mechanically inclined.
  12. We tow a 2011 Honda CR V with 4 wheels down. Just be sure whatever you tow, read the owners manual. When driving it averages between 26 n 30 mpg.
  13. I agree with Poppo. I avoid the 95 corridor like the plague. Just, Nov 1st returned from Kittery Maine and did 84 and 81 and 77. A beautiful ride and plenty of places to stay. Have a safe trip Enjoy the scenery Fank
  14. While on a recent trip to New England and searching for a place to stay on the FMCA Connection sponsored campgrounds site I ran across an RV Park in Barrington New Hampshire that offers a one hundred percent, YES that is 100% discount to FMCA Members they do however accept donations and they are open year round and are pet friendly. I wrote an email to FMCA asking if that was true or a typo because most other campgrounds off 10% ten percent. I received an email back stating that the 100%discount was correct. It's called TOWNSEND Systems Camping Park, 119 Hall Road, Barrington, NH 03825-3209 and I guess it's is part of a network. We did not stay there as I discovered it on my way home to Florida. I have not searched the rest of the states. I thought that this would be good general information for anyone traveling in atleast the north east. Frank
  15. I have something like that happen everytime I get in a hurry. I just turn off everything, wait about 5 minutes then start from scratch. When the low voltage light comes on I start the engine and then proceed. it's like it gets confused when I push too many buttons. Just be patient. Frank
  16. Thanks Rich, I'll check them out. Frank
  17. I see you found the fuse. Good. They put them in some unusual locations.
  18. I own a 2007 Fleetwood Providence and also had trouble with the toad plug. Finally located the fuse panel inside the spare tire storage box in the upper right hand corner after searching under the dash and under the bed and under the coach. The box is about 4inchs by 4 inches ad looks light it is part of the chassis. Mine has a bright # 2 on the cover after I cleaned it. Hope this helps.
  19. Many good suggestions, i'll try a few and keep you updated. Thanks
  20. I have a 2007 Fleetwood Providence. I am visiting my sister in Rhode Island and parked I her driveway. I have water and cable o sewer hookup. I have to empty the black tank every 7 to 9 days. On one trip to the dealer to dump the tank, the secondary air gauge started going from zero to operating pressure and back and the warning buzzer starts. I paid for a mobile RV repairman and he could not find anything wrong. So I went to empty the black tank and it started going up and down after driving about 10 miles and was intermittent all the way back but still cannot here an air leak. Any suggestions?
  21. I recently towed our 2011 CRV from Fl to RI. I installed a "toad charge" system and connected it to the house batteries to keep the juice flowing to the brake buddy. That, in my case proved to be wrong. I had to buy a new battery when I reached RI. I guess the small battery I the Honda cannot handle the charging rate. I do start the CRV and let it run for while like it says in the owners manual. On my return trip to FL I am not going to connect the "toad charge" system and see what happens. The Honda owners manual does not say anything about pulling a fuse and most other RV people I have talked to don't even worry about the battery going dead just let it run for a while after stopping for the day and first thing in the morning and let the transmission warn up and shift it between rev and dr the get on the road.
  22. On a recent trip across Georgia on route 16 west, I noticed that the exit ramps and on-ramps had drop-down guards, like at a railroad crossing. But I only noticed them going from west to east. Can anyone tell me why they were there? I'm just curious about why they were there and when they would use them. It's like when they close the arms, no one can get off the highway.
  23. Check the owners manual to see IF it can be towed with 4 wheels on the ground. Then use the internet and go to the Blue-OX site. They will the proper attachments.
  24. Best bet, go to owners manual. We had to make a similar decision and bought a Honda CR-V. Happy motoring 2007 Fleetwood Providence
  25. Richard, Thanks for your response. The finance company, BB&T, would not let me remove anything. They said the coach had to be "fully insured at all times" to be financed by them.
