I have a question about the Aquahot 450D. If I just want hot water and not run any other zones, do I just turn the diesel burner on or do I also have to switch on engine preheat? Also after engine preheat does the engine keep the hot water hot?

Isn't your solar charge controller also programmable?
I looked at the manual again and on page 10 they show how to do custom programming.
DIP Switch 4 – Custom Setpoints
If the standard battery type settings are not suitable, custom charging setpoints can be programmed using a PC and a Morningstar Serial to Meterbus adapter (not included). See Morningstar’s website for more information.
DIP Switch 4 OFF: Factory settings (factory pre-set)
DIP Switch 4 ON: Custom programmed settings

Check your chassis battery voltage and see if they are low.

What Herman says I do for my 2012 and works fine.
If you have the 2 wheel drive model its not towable 4 down.

Link to remote meter
I just learned the three battery symbols are as following.
left green light, fully charge
middle yellow light, low on charge
right red light, discharged

I don't know but I have the link to the controller and looks like set by dip switches. Page 9 shows charge rate.

To add to the ledger the connection is as follows
The two larger leads are input and has a picture of the sun. Must be input from solar panels.
The left leads are marked Battery 1, they must be the house batteries
The right leads are marked Battery 2, they must be chassis batteries
The two smaller leads are Remote Temperature. I don't know what set of batteries.
In all it appears to be charging 6 batteries, 2x 31 chassis flooded batteries and 4x L16 AGM batteries.
The 13.7 volts are from the solar panels and not anything to do with the inverter/chargers when they are plugged in to shore power or generator running.
I'm just learning about this so if somebody knows this system let me know.
Was hard to see in picture but the far lower right is the remote connection.
-
I took the time to snap a couple of pictures of the solar readout and controller.
This appears to show 13.7 charge voltage and have switch buttons that I don't know what it do or mean.
This is to show that the controller is mounted upside down.
Looking at the dip switches on the controller
Batt 1 is set for sealed batteries
Batt 2 is set for flooded batteries
Priority is set to 90/10 90 being house and 10 chassis, taking my guess putting 1 and 2 together
Custom settings are off
PWM charging is on, I don't know what that is.
The green charging light is on and the temperature light is blue which I think is good.
Can somebody tell me more about this?

There are 2 big patio awnings, should have a toggle switch for each, does not, we have one and it puts out both awnings at the same time!
Ray, we have solar also and one is for start batteries, the other? Who knows, it's not listed. On AC or gen, the house batteries and start are charged.
I need to take pictures of the solar inside LCD panel and and controller in basement so someone can tell me what they do.

With them mounted in the basement on the ceiling, they are out of the way of cargo. Also it helps the aquahot heat the basement.
-
Those pictures I took is from me laying on my back with the inverters and bridge mounted upside down middle ceiling. I had a hard time getting back out and thought about taking a nap in there.
-
It also has a couple of solar cells on the roof and a readout over the front door that connect to a controller at the 4th cargo bay on the right. I have no idea how any of it works.
-
Someone asked me about the batteries and inverters on new coach so I crawled inside the basement and took some pictures. I have 2 Hybrid Magna Sine 3000 watts inverters. They are connected to by a bridge controller and have 4x L16 AGM batteries. I didn't get a pictures of the batteries as they are tuck in the back middle between fresh and sewers tanks with walls panels hiding them. If I ever have to get them batteries serviced I would have to hire a small strong monkey to do it.

You should have gotten a free one-year subscription with your new MH radio with Sirius integrated.
That got fixed, loose connection in the dash.

We got it back Thursday with many things fixed and others waiting on parts. When we got it back we had a new problem that happen during a recall. Going through the list of all that was done, one item was to tighten the discharge clamp on the rear macerator toilet. They did that but didn't check the operation afterwards. The water level lockout light was red which require you to hold the flush button at least 10 seconds. I could imagine what my wife would say the first time she had to do that,
I called the factory which had me flush the black tank three times that never been used. Nope that didn't fix it and no way to see the level pads on the side of the tank. So finally with their permission I unscrew the toilet from the floor and and slid it away from the plumbing box. Sure enough a wire for the high level that came out of a butt connector. As soon as I repair that wire I got a green water level indicator. DW should be happy now.

When depressing the electric Full Flush button you can hear clicks in the control box, but nothing else happens. I have flushed & rinse the black tank, however believe the toilet's High Level tank switch has already been disconnected. I have opened the control box and verified 12VDC incoming. I called Dometic Tech ... however received the after hours "CLOSED" recording.
In a RV park with convenient restroom access, however that doesn't please my co-pilot. Any tips?
Thanks, Robert
When you press flush and hear clicking verify you have 12v going out from the blue wire. Sea pump output.

I would not put any bike close in the path of 180 F air flow and expect it to last long.

Short run no, long run you bet.

I wonder if I can get a refund for unused part of GS? I just got 3 free years of Coach-Net from Entegra Coach.

Mine is in the rear closet even though I really don't need it. I tested it one day and the monitor will pick up the sensors from 78 feet without the booster.
I talked to a tech at tireminder and looked at the manual at they want it under the coach behind the rear axle. Look at page 7 of this manual.

Most have a booster in the rear outside of the coach not to boost signal but to overcome E.F. noise.

20 minutes ago, wolfe10 said:Agree. That is why our coaches all had a second filter (carbon) under the sink.
The carbon under the sink usually just for the small faucet at the sink but not hot and cold water. In my previous coach it didn't do the ice maker which would allow chlorine in your drinks. I don't think it hurts to use the extra filter as fresh water tank gets dumped when not in use. I been doing that for 10 years and never had a problem with fresh water tank smelling or anything similar.

I drove the home from the campground which was only an hour away, the temp out was around 75 and I only had the AC on about half power. I got home, unloaded the coach and about two hours later drove to the storage facility which is only about 20 min away. About 20 min after parking to store it I noticed all of the water. I opened the Generator door and thats when I noticed the drain tube was clogged. I saw that the whole evaporator was wet and the bottom inch had a layer of Ice on it which was melting quickly. The AC was blowing cold the whole time but I did notice a musty smell in the coach when I got in it at home to drive it to the storage facility.
I don't know about your 2018 my but my 2019 Anthem has the condenser right below the evaporator so it's not pumping cold freon 45 feet and be more efficient. If blowing cold inside then check drain. If evap freezes up you will notice less air flow and less cold.
Sorry I see you clear the drain, you may had solved the problem,

7 hours ago, wolfe10 said:Don't know the set up on your particular coach, but it is common to use a 5 micron SEDIMENT ONLY filter for all water going into the coach. Though it is usually not harmful to people, the sediment found in a lot of well water can clog up plumbing and be deposited in the water heater. It is NOT a good idea to install a charcoal filter here, as you do not want to remove the chlorine from water you will be storing in the potable water tank.
Most coaches have only the single water inlet that can then be directed by a valve to either just provide water to the house or to the potable water tank.
It is fine to have a charcoal filter "post pump". Removing chlorine, etc just before use is fine.
Many coaches have just that arrangement, a sediment only filter in the wet bay and a charcoal filter under the sink for drinking, ice maker, etc.
If someone drinks from fresh tank they may not like the taste of chlorine.

Thanks for the tips, what I gather from it is I can run engine preheat 1 hour before start and have hot water to wash hands while traveling. When I get to campground and on shore power it will be good to switch to electric. If we all want long showers run both diesel and electric.
We are going to use for first time this Friday through Monday to Ocean City, WA beach 4 hour drive each way.
