  1. The specs I have are generic for my coach that year, they told me the standard tank was a 64 gallon. I have the option sheet for my vin, no mention of the tank other than it had a option selected for a Brennner tank, no size mentioned. What I don't know is was it opted out for a larger tank at the factory or was it changed out later, REV was vague when I called. No gas comes out when the valve is opened, but there could be liquid in there I guess?
  2. Yea, I missed that part. Maintenance records...more specific detail would be needed. If it still has the coolant in it from 1994 it's not a deal. Some people feel an oil change is all that is needed. It sounds like a nice unit.
  3. Shoveldog, sounds like a nice coach. I'm not familiar with the Oshkosh chassis but the older mechanical engines produced great power (despite their ratings) and were simple to keep on the road. do you have maintenance records to review? What roof does to have, rubber, metal or fiberglass? No signs of water leaks? Since you are now new to RV's you are probably familiar with all of the things that are common failure points, just be sure all of that is good and the power train had all of its required maintenance I.e coolant replaced etc. there is one of there for sale 3 miles from me, just without full paint. Out here on the east coast, especially in the North East we have slim pickings for used motorhomes and even worse for good RV dealers.
  4. Carl, that is how I thicken mine. Tank is out, wow was that heavy. Getting out was the easy part, trying to move it...well that took two of us to lift and we were grunting, it's empty! I can't seem to figure out how many gallons since it's not marked. All I could find was Brunner 101 lbs and the ANSI specs. Now onto building the floor, drawer and sewer hose storage.
  5. I agree with you guys. No cheese, Fritos (that's a new one) or any of the stuff you listed. I put the other beans in on occasion, people up here identify chili by the beans. Beef only for me!
  6. At Easter I warm the ham and put potatoes all around it wrapped in foil. The Ham gets more smoke and melts in your mouth
  7. Carl, the only thing I cook that is sweet is a dessert! It's Texas Chili! DW hates beans, so I make it with and without for the contest. I prefer black eyed peas and black beans, not the traditional chili bean. Simple concoction that includes beer.
  8. Thanks Tireman. I figured if they are not long enough a trip to the truck parts house should solve that with new studs. It looks like they will be ok, I have a fair amount of excess now.
  9. Bill. http://toughtripod.com i figured if you can swing an anvil from it should take the abuse I give it. Very HD! I welded a quick link to my Dutch oven handle , now I just reach over and snap it to the carabiner the tri pod came with
  10. Bill, still headed this way in September? If so we have to catch up. Hopefully the humidity will have passed, dew point today so far is at 76. If you time it right, the weekend of the 16th I am entered in a Chili cook off contest at a CG in Gettysburg PA. Obedb is going that weekend also. PM me for the details if your interested. Never been to Colorado, it's on my list. I have family out there wouldn't mind dropping in on.
  11. Bill, my propane tank is 64 gallons! It's 7' long and 2'9" tall. The last propane appliance was the cook top to go. Still have if anyone knows someone that wants one to convert to a counter top or outdoor cook top, double burner. I have to buy higher quality pots for the coach, the cheap ones we have had for years are magnetic but do not heat well, we have All Clad in the house, water boils quickly in those but $$$, trying not to spend that much for the coach. When I meet up with Kay in a few weeks I want to look at the Magma set he has, might be a good fit for us. I carry a Lodge cast iron Dutch over (the largest they make) and a small one. I often will cook over the fire on my tripod, and let food sit in that and cook most of the day. Potatoes, onions, cheese and bacon go well in it over the fire. I also will roll out buttermilk biscuits and bake them in it also, just to name a few. Ok now I'm hungry. I just came in from starting a Brisket on the smoker at the house, I've got a few friends coming over later to help pull this tank from the coach, have to feed them! Funny thought, I have removed almost 1000 lbs from this coach since we have had it.
  12. Bill, I'm on 18 yrs, same here. She will often say "why did I marry you?" glad you got the mystery figured out. Now get well!
  13. Looks good! I now carry one of these thanks to a few recommendations from fellow FMCA members. http://www.traegergrills.com/shop/grills/town-travel-portable-series/ptg/TFT17LLA.html And I also carry a Weber Smokey Joe charcoal grill, everything else is going out for the yard sale this fall. I prefer to have the storage space rather than a design like this. If I had a front short bay I would consider this (only two full pass through's)but in Stainless or aluminum, mostly because of bad weather, if its cooling down and started to rain the wood could become damaged and cleaning, I can pressure wash aluminum or stainless. I have no more propane on board and I am pulling the tank tomorrow, so its portable containers for me or charcoal. They did do a fine job on the setup.
  14. Here's a thought, maybe install a Bidet in the next to the toilet, you could power it with that Sorry Bill, couldn't resist!
  15. A pressure washer????? WOW didn't see that coming . If it were mine that would be removed. Can you imaging a water leak from that thing driving down the road under pressure?
  16. Carl, keep us posted. I have a feeling my house batteries are on their last year. I have had to cook mine 2 times this year to get them back in shape, usually its once a year. Hoping they last the season, next year if necessary I will be switching to AGM also.
  17. Bennie, you said a mouthful! I always buy the product with the better quality, even at a higher cost. Not that I'm wealthy but I have watched others replace the cheap product a few times that didn't work as well the entire time while I am still on the original purchase, in the end they have spent hours replacing, sourcing and in the end spent more than I did not counting if you factor in that time is money. DW and I talk about this often I am a once and done kind of guy, do it right the first time and walk away with a clear head.
  18. You are welcome, I just hope I didn't miss a step
  19. Carl, my surge protector shows the voltage in but 0 amps when nothing is pulling on that leg. Your situation sounds like that leg is not connected internally within the surge protector. You can get AC#3 on with the generator, correct?
  20. Forgot to mention, just make sure the tower you are connected to isn't dropping L2
  21. Email them from the phone to yourself, save them in your computer. I do it all the time, not the fastest way but it much easier.
  22. Carl, sounds like two problem's to me; Problem #1: "I looked at my battery reading and they showed 2.6V just before Magnum panel went blank", unhook and test your batteries individually, sounds like you have one or more that need to be replaced. The reason it went back up to 13.8 is you are now looking at your charger output rather than the actual battery output. Problem #2: Potential surge protector problem, the output on L2 makes sense if the coach isn't pulling any amperage on that leg at that time, but the clunking you were experiencing yesterday seems to be the surge protector opening and closing one leg on its own which would also explain the one AC unit shutting off, it might be connected to that leg. I would turn on all ac units and recheck L2, is there a draw? Then wait for the clunk and 0Amps now? Is the AC unit shut off again on its own? This would make sense also as to why it works in generator with no problems. The generator wouldn't be connected to the surge protector, it should bypass that built in surge protector.
