My LP genset burns .6 gals per hour. At about $3/gal (for LP) here in NE, $600 equates to about 400 hrs of generator time. I live in my RV about 6 mos of the year. I have a 13 gal LP tank on my rig. Its peace of mind not having to worry about having to find a place to refill the LP tank during a week or more of boondocking And never having to worry about starting the generator or waking up to dead batteries. A DIY set up of $600 is much less than $2K for a professional setup. And I can take it with me on my next RV. For me, it was money well spent.

Nice list. Thanks.

I also use the Allstays App to find campsites and the OvernightRVParking website for boondocking places. Will check out RV Parky. The Flame On app goes by Fireplace and Campfires FREE on the Google Play store. When you install it, it uses the names Flame On for the app on your phone. You can then pick a fire scene to download and play.

Congratulations on getting to retirement! When I first retired, it felt like a long vacation from my work. But after a couple of years, I found a new lifestyle. I'm sure the same will happend to you. Enjoy your travels.

Mike, thanks for your comment. You're so right about the added stress factor of dealing with IBD and travel. There's a whole mental aspect of the disease that really affects you. Glad you're enjoying the RV lifestyle.

Its a beautiful road. I drove it just last month (June). I drove it in a 26 ft motorhome. There's a couple passes to go over (La Veta Pass and Wolf Creek Pass) that have long ascents and descents. Some nice small towns that time has seemed to forgot. Plan on speeds of 45 to 50 mph slowing down to 35-25 in the towns. Its 2 lanes with not much traffic. Its in good condition.

Thanks for reading and your comments.

Oak Hill is in Green County. From I-88 you'd take Rt 145 south for about 25-30 miles. It is a pretty area. Thanks for reading my blog.

Blake;
Building my website was a great learning experience. I had never done it before. I took me 6 months of researching, experimenting, and trying things out. It's not as hard as you might think. Thanks for commenting.
