X2 on the Chevy Equinox. We have towed ours about 34,000 miles. Only problem we have had is our Brake Buddy locked the brakes and burned the rotors, but that isn't the fault of the Chevy. The Chevy HHR is also towable, but smaller. The Chevy Traverse is bigger, but not towable unless 4 wheel drive.
Sorry but the Traverce can be towed 2 WD or all WD but it is a heavy rascle.

Chevy Equinox is also a good small toad and exelent MPG.

I would try hitch traded owned by Blue Ox, I have 3 used Roadmaster brackets in my shed now and all 3 are as good as new, I like Roadmaster Brackets personaly because I think they are a bit more robust built and I have never heard of a Roadmaster bracket failure.

Like gramps I have used the Trik-L-Start for many yrs along with Powerpulse for the deslufation feature (one for the 4- 6V batteries or 2 chassis batteries ), link below for best price on both.

I think you have the SM 209 or SM 210 and they do not have the back light and i dont think you can add them. Go here to see.

Installing the Base Plate is not a hard job, I have always used Roadmaster and they have the instructions on their web site that you can download and see if you want to atempt the job. I only need help removing and installing the front grill and bumper cover and I always have something to set the bumper and grill on so it wont get scratched, I also always use threadloc and torque to specs. I recently did a 2010 Chev Equinox then we went to a 2011 Ford Edge and then to a 2013 F150 CC.

I can't see how you could install a breakaway system on theRedibrake sysstem. I have used the Roadmaster Brakemaster with breakaway system on 4 toads so far and like the ease of installation, it is a proportional braking system and I think it is one of the best out there just under the M&G, the M&G is a bear to install and cant install on all toads.
The breakaway system for the Brakmaster is a simple system to build yourself with a $35 mac valve a few fittings the hardest part is finding the little tank or building one or using two 2 1/2 bull plugs and a 21/2 collar to make one.

If you are using a toad braking system Its a little more to consider when installing Diodes, the brake lights will overide the signal light from the coach, you need to install a brake light relay kit. Another way is use a light bar or wireless toad lights. see below

Thanks for the tip on the super glue, I to have been having trouble with the TST sensors I am getting less than 3 yrs before dead batteries (on I think 3 so far) and they are off the coach most of the time, Had the pressure Pro 6 + yrs before the batteries started to go same thing off the coach most of the time and the sensors is about $40 now

Believe the solution to problems with light cameras is simple. If cameras are installed for revenue or what some government agencies call safe, the law should require a countdown clocks which indicate how long before the YELLOW is activated. This would allow any size vehicle time to avoid one more local tax. The countdown clock should be the law in every state that is if the camera is not a revenue source.
That would not make any difference in Louisiana because running a yellow light is conserded tha same as running a red light, go figure. I wonder why have the yellow light?
The above information is from my sister-in-law when she went to traffic court in the little town of Woodworth just outside of Alexandra La and a known speed trap and has been for years if you go through there do not get 1 mile over the posted limit. She did the research and the judge was correct she said it is considered a red light.

Ray its according the tow bar you have both Blue Ox and Roadmaster have all Terrain tow bars that makes it easier to unlock when the bar is in a bind, I now run the Falcon all terrain bar and it can be a little hard at times when the bar is in a bind but not like the old style that could be a real pain to unlock if it was in any kind of a bind. Just get your co pilot to rock the car back and forth EASY when it gets super hard to unlock.

Do I understand that if you have a dummy key you may put the vehicle in neutral but not start it?

Yes Monaco replaced a bunch of sidewalls before they got the same disease that Winnebago has, I think Corning stopped helping and this was a expensive fix to eat all the cost.

Not sure this will help but on the Roadmaster Chassis we have that problem and the solution is to clean the road scum off of the top of the low pressure relay or sensor on top of the front tank the scum shorts out the wires causing a low air alarm.

Help,
We are here in the Dallas are and we have a 99 Diplomat that needs tires. The size presently on the coach (all around) is 225 70R 22.5, but looking at the Michelin program and calling around to a few of the big truck tire shops no one seems to have the exact size available. One service center said the size is no longer manufactured, and they are looking for one size larger the 235 70R 22.5, and haven't found anything yet. I looked at using the 255 70R 22.5, and the height (diameter) will be close, but the added width will not fit in rear wheel wells when the coach is off of the airbags. One RV repair facility said to use the larger 255 70R 22.5 and they said it is OK for the coach to rest on the tires when it is stored, but my fear is if I'm trying to level the beast and it tips the coach up and down on the tires it will eventually cause a problem. I called Monaco Tech Support in Oregon, and they only show the one size tire that is acceptable for the coach, the smaller 225 70R 22.5.
Any suggestions?
Thank You
I had a 99 diplomat and the 255/70 22.5 is what came on the coach from Monaco factory. As has been stated look on the wall behind the driver seat at the GVWR sticker. On our 38 ft coach and the best I remember all length diplomat that year had a 10,000 front axle and with the 255/70 you need a min of 105 psi for 10,000, I installed 275/70 22.5 Toyo's all the way around on our coach and the only problem I had was the left rear skirt I trimmed 1/4 inch off the inside of the skirt because it was a little to close. I just used painter tape and a jig saw.
I think if you would check a pressure chart on the 235/70 I am sure you will see that you are overloading the front tires of the coach with a load of water and fuel with driver and copilot and not a lot of stuff in the bay you are maxed out on the front axle. The rear is 19,000.

The 04 to 07 V-6 engine Vue's Saturn used the Honda engine and Trans and you must go from low or drive with the engine running to N before towing or you will be looking for a new Transmission. I like the charge line better than removing a fuse, I also like the dummy key idea or a key without the chip to tow.

Does anyone have any experience with the Blue Ox Patriot Braking System?
I am new to Dinghy Towing and have reservations concerning the system discharging my battery. I'm going to be towing a 2012 Ford F150 4X4.
Any advice or help would be appreciated.
I also tow a 13 F150 4X4 and have a charge wire from my coach to the truck battery I used #10 wire with a fuseable link 15 or 20a on each battery, the reason for this is if your battery runs down and you tow the truck you could damage the trans, check your owners book, I also have a diode on the truck battery to stop back feed to the coach, not sure this is necessary but it wont hurt. I dont know about the Patriot I use the Brakemaster by Roadmaster, I think among one of the best behind M&G.

I have a friend that drives and tows a Chevrolet Colorado automatic 4X4. He was told he needed a drive shaft disconnect because the drive shaft turning in the transfer case would not lubricate the trans. Has any one heard of this before? I towed Yukon 4X4 many miles and no problems. Lets hear your thoughts.
Herman you didn't say what year but the 04 to 2012 are towable auto or manual but the 13 I don't think is towable at least it doesn't show the truck in any of the towing guides. If it was me I would see if the trans pump would lube the trans in Neutral with the engine at idle. I had a guy I know that towed a Town Car that way for many yrs and never a problem. I never travel over 60 mph in the coach for a number of reasons.

I might be over cautious but when I installed the charge wire for our toad we were towing a 10 Equinox I installed a diode on the battery wire to battery to stop any feed back to the coach also fusible link at the coach and toad battery and used #10 Wire. So far we have used this on the 10 Equinox, 11 Edge and 13 F150 4X4 no problems since the installation, cost would be about $25 to $30 I had everything but one fusible link in my shop so price could be more.

I have a R M Falcon All Terrain 6000 tow bar in excellent shape that I would be glad to trade for the BlackHawk if it was in good shape, I am in Mississippi.

Jim there is a formula for figuring how much weight the scooter and carrier will add to your coach rear springs.
Its AXB divided by C
A= weight of Scooter + 460
B= Wheelbase + Rear Axle to Existing Receiver + 23
C= Wheel base
I think you might be surprised at how much weight can add to the rear of your coach.
Good luck and hope it works out for you.

I also up graded our ISC 350 and it is a simple installation on our coach, I installed it in probably no more than a hr.
A friend bought one from Pac Brake at the Perry FMCA Rally a few yrs back and they installed it for him at the Rally at no cost on a 94 Dynasty 8.3.
