We are in the process of planning a trip to Alaska next year.  We have a 45 foot Coach.  Has anyone used the ferry -  aka the Alaska Marine Highway ?  Is that a good alternative to the drive though Canada to get to Anchorage, etc.?

And any experience with any of the tours that leave from the US and spend around 2 months traveling?

We are planning a trip to the San Francisco area in our 45 ft motorhome.  Can anyone recommend a good place in the area for a week or two stay that will accommodate our coach?
