  1. Martha,

We have a 2011 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 that we had a "drive line disconnect" installed and it works great. Have never had a problem with it. The work was done by"Eagles Pride" which is located at "The Great Outdoors RV Park" outside Titusville, Fl. Not too far from you. I can't remember the price right now but I'll look it up and email it to you. Their number is 321 383-0288.

    Rob

    Thanks Rob. I appreciate that.

  2. I have 2 SmartCars. Both are 2013. I have towed SmartCars for about 5 years and have had no problems. My husband has the convertible and I have "plain Jane".

We both use Roadmaster and do not have any problems with the wheels not staying straight. We do not use any brake system or battery disconnect.

I have a 35' Fleetwood Terra LX and he has a 16'' Roadtrek.

I have some friends that use BlueOx and they both have to use bungie-cords to keep the front wheels straight.

SmartCar is an ideal tow vehicle. I also carry a disability cart in the SmartCar.

  3. I have a 2007 Fleetwood Terra LX with a 5.5 Onan. I always prime before starting. It will start, runs great, but in 15 minutes it just stops. I can reprime and it will do the same. When I remove the cover, I can see a clear glass that holds the gas after I prime it. When it stops, the glass cover is empty. Any suggestions?

  4. Here's an interesting article I received.

Senior Discounts (If you're not a senior, please pass this on to someone who is!)

As I was waiting in line behind an older gentleman at Wendy's recently, I heard him ask for his senior discount. The girl at the register apologized and charged him less. When I asked the man what the discount was, he told me that seniors over 55 get 10% off everything on the menu, every day.

Being that age myself, I figured I might as well ask for the discount too. As I waited for my turn, I thought about the consequences of doing so. If the employee asked me for I.D., it could be embarrassing having to show my license. But if she didn't ask for proof, I would get depressed that I really did look "old" and that I didn't need to prove it. Since I always like to save money, I boldly asked for the discount, and sadly she just rang up the discount (even though I am convinced I don't look a day over 54).

Anyway, this incident prompted me to do some research, and I came across a list of restaurants, supermarkets, department stores, travel deals and other types of offers giving various discounts with different age requirements. I was actually surprised to see how many there are and how some of them start at the young age of 50.

This list may not only be useful for you, your friends and family, but it might also be appreciated by your clients. You might consider sending them an e-mail about it and link to our site in the e-mail, or maybe include it in your newsletter.

Dunkin Donuts gives free coffee to people over 55. If you're paying for a cup every day, you might want to start getting it for free.

  5. I tow a SmartCar with my motorhome and have had no problems. The battery does not die, it tows like it's not back there, and a trailer for it is not required.

I also have a Chevy Equinox Sport and Chevy Traverse and they are also set up to tow. Equinox must be a Sport to tow it.

  6. I have been RVing since 1956 and have had many motorhomes. When I pull out of my backyard the generator is running, the A/C is on (if hot weather), the refig is on electric. If the weather is cold I don't run the a/c but that happens very seldom. When I traded my last motorhome (10 years old)I had 10,000 hours on my generator and everytime I took it in for oil change and check-ups they told me I would never have a problem with the generator because I used it properly. When parked in my backyard I go out every week, turn on the generator, start the a/c, and let it run for about an hour. I do my motorhome inside cleaning or just sit and watch TV. After 10 years with that generator I NEVER had a problem. Now I have another motorhome (4 years old) and the generator is going to be as good as the last one. Onan make a great product. I do run the engine A/C once a day when traveling for about 30 minutes then turn it off.

  7. I am interested in knowing how you liked the FMCA Convention in Perry, Georgia.

We all went to Perry and had a good time in spite of the rain and mud. It was cold and that was my kind of weather. Rain would not be a problem if everyone would quit moving their cars - that's what made the mud.

We all got out with no problem but in the hardest of the rain we were all surrounded by water. Just put on your boots and go!

Trams were excellent and drivers and helpers were very friendly.

I was parked in electric and the parking was great also. We had plenty room between coaches so we could use awning and slides and put car next to vehicle. The electric generators were parked about 50 feet from me and during the night I slept so good - their noise did not bother me. I highly recommend electric area.

From past Perry rallies it was so odd to see the number of coaches down this year and the number of vendors.

Now it's time to head to Bowling Green for the next FMCA rally. I'm on my way........see ya there!

  8. Going to a Monaco Pre-Rally in Springfield, Ohio in July. Then to the FMCA Rally in Bowling Green. From there going to Bowling Green, KY to see the first Camping World store again, stay at their campground - but bet I have to pay more than 10 cents this time. Then to Branson, MO to see the entertaining - next to Tunica, MS to donate some money at Sam's Casino - next to Monroe, LA and tell my mom and dad hi at the local cemetry - then to Marksville, LA and my sisters will come over to visit - then to Bay St Louis, MS to Hollywood Casino (Old Casino Magic) and deposit some money there - then to Chattachooee, FL and stay at my favorite campground, East Bank by Corp of Engrs. From there I will go home to Merritt Island, FL, get some rest and then will be ready to go again. Ain't retirement fun!
