  1. Check with etrailer.com. They have all the parts and instructions and even videos for most of there towing items. I myself use Roadmaster and have never had a problem with the installs.

    Airtabs

    I bought Airtabs for the reason you stated; for stability, not for fuel mileage gains. They did help to make my coach more stabile, but no increase in fuel mileage.
  4. I tow a 2013 Fiat 500 POP. I just got the RVI2 system, it fits good as it comes with a clamp for the Fiat brake pedal much better and easier to use than the Brake buddy it replaced. I do have a question: I'm trying to mount a breakaway switch and can't find any room or area on the front of the car where it would fit. Anyone else have this issue? I'm using Roadmaster tow brackets and towbar. Thanks

  6. I carried a 125 Yamaha Zuma for a few years on my then Class C. I bought the carrier at Harbor Freight, light weight but the scooters are pretty light. I now have a Class A that can handle a better carrier and a larger Bike (650 Suzuki S-40 aka Savage). this Combo weighs under 500lbs. But, I now tow a Fiat 500, don't have to worry about weather. I now also have a Kymco 125 scooter, it's also light had will haul me at 55mph and room for 2 people. I good little scooter and a lot less $$ than the Yamaha. Have fun.
  7. Carl, it seems to occur after some time on the road. I keep the steps well lubed, but I'm not sure if the sealed gears are to be lubed. A slight tap with a hammer on the gear box next to the motor seems to get them to work. Pete
  8. I seem to have a similar problem with the step. It stays in the up position and if I tap the gear assembly with a hammer ( not hard) it starts to work. Am I due for a new unit or are these repairable?

  12. Rich, thanks for the info. The quote that we got for the 50 amp service said it was 10-12 ft way from the box. Since I haven't been to my nephew's new house, I'm not sure what is available. You can't plug into a 220v with a 50 amp plug, can you? Thanks, Pete
  13. I have a 2006 Damon Daybreak set up for 50 amp. I'll be staying at some relative's house for a couple of week and will only have regular 15 amp service available. I have the appropriate adaptors and heavy duty 10 ga 15 amp extension cords. When we had a small TT, we stayed at a state park with 15 amp and that's all that was available, only problem that I noticed was you really had to watch what you were using and no A/C. Do you think I will have any other problems doing this, other than no a/c? An electrician wanted $600 to put in a 50 amp outlet and we don't want to do that. Thanks
  14. I have a 2006 Damon 32ft. I get between 7.5 and 8.5, but so far haven't towed anything, I have a small M/C on a rack that I use for transportation. As someone said, slowing down would increase the mpgs, but with this Ford V-10 and transmission, if you slow down under the 62-64mph, it downshifts out of O/D and would hurt your mpgs more than not help it.
  15. Herman, is the 1200lbs in Texas a new law? Here's what I found for TX towing: anything over 4500lbs require brakes.
  16. I checked on finanacing an older coach a few years ago and my credit union would consider it, but the loan would have to meet a borrowing committee. I didn't complete the transaction as I bought a newer coach. BL, maybe a credit union would consider it (I'm sure at a higher rate). Good luck, Pete
  17. If you care to make a trip to San Antonio, I would definitely recommend Iron Horse RV. They're doing rear bushings on my Damon now. They've done other work for me before, but since they are so good, they normally schedule appts 2 weeks out.
  18. They actually changed in 1996-1997. I retired as a SMSgt in 1990 and still have a hard time figuring the new ones out.

    Timbren SES

    I'm thinking about putting a set of Timbren SES on my 2006 Damon Daybreak. The reason is that when I haul my Suzuki on the back, it dips down about an 1.5". I've had Timbrens on pickups and my class C and it should be a DIY install, even on the class A. Has anyone had any experience with them on a class A? I know air bags are probably a better solution, but a bigger expense that I don't want at this time. Thanks
  20. I switched from GMAC through Good Sam to Progressive this year. Their yearly cost was just slightly higher than GMAC 6 month cost. I've had motorcycles through them for many years and have had only 1 claim and they were great. No experience with any RV claims.

  23. It is a LCI Electronic Leveling system. No model number on it. Before, I started the coach I hit the brake pedal and the noise is still there. It is coming from the brake system, so you are probably correct that it is normal for this type of chassis. I started the engine and after running it for a few minutes, I switched it off and the lights on the LCI panel lit up, but I believe its doing it when I turn the key to the off position and accidentally nudge it into the accessory position, and that is what is causing the lights to flash, so could it be like a test function and is also normal? Thanks for your help, it would have been nice if the coach had the manuals with it.
  24. I have a 2006 Damon on a F53 chassis. When I press the brake pedal (engine off)there is a noise that sounds like hydraulic pumps running, it also occurred when I shut the engine off. Also, the lights on the leveling system flash like a strobe light. Is this normal? This is my first class A, but not my first MH. Thanks
