If the fridge is working, you have 12-volt power into the coach. What - exactly - is not working?

The inverter has nothing to do with 12 volt power in the coach. An inverter takes 12 volts DC and produces 110 volts AC. And if the fridge is working, there is 12-volt power in the coach.

I have to disagree.  There is a relay inside the inverter to bypass inverting to allow shore power to pass through to one or two circuits that have breakers in the inverter. Check to be sure one of those isn't tripped and needs reset. The other breaker may be the one that feeds the refrigerator 120v. These breakers may be on the side and not easily seen. The 12vdc is provided by the converter function in the dual function inverter.

  2. What is reasonable cost code reader for the round data port on a 2005 Freightliner chassis with a Caterpillar C-7 engine. I randomly get a Check Engine warning without any further information. Other gauges do not indicate any problem.

  3. Geologically, Bryce is the youngest. The floor of Bryce is the same as the rim of Zion, and the floor of Zion is the same as the rim of the Grand Canyon.

While the Grand is mammoth and impressive, Bryce has the most beauty with the Hoo Doo rock formations. I liked the north rim of Grand over the south rim. Not as many people. We were in our motor home, but stayed just outside the park. If you are into buying Native American Indian art, the south rim has a great trading post.

  4. When looking at your picture, it looks like you have a tow dolly, not a tow bar. A tow dolly supports the two front wheels of your towed auto. A tow bar uses adapters attached to the frame of the towed auto with an attached bar(s) to the RV. The bar may be semi-permanently attached to the RV or to the towed auto.

  5. The benefit states that you may find a lower cost from a different supplier in your area. I bought Firestones for more than $100/tire lower than the benefit, but that is where I live. Bridgestone owns Firestone. Top of the line Bridgestone design are used on Firestone one or two years later. My first motor home had Firestone tires, so I was comfortable in using them. They have been running for about 9,000 miles without any problems. Go to the Advantage dealer and ask if there is a different manufacturer that has tires that are suitable replacements.

  6. Just an Update.

i have removed DirecTV. Installed a RoKu Premium which is a sound bar and RoKu interface to/from TV via HDMI. $99.  Much better sound. Does require internet. Total monthly cost is less than DirecTV  including internet, PBS, and Netflix. We have Amazon Prime, so no additional charge.

We won't be going back to DirecTV.

  7. Most auto parts stores sell double sided tape to attach trim and molding. Great it is removable with great difficulty. I had to remove my small FMCA logo off my towed auto when I traded. Cut through the center of the tape. It is thick. Then I was able to peal the remaining tape from the rear window and the logo.

  8. Thank you for correcting the IP: address. When I had mine, I changed the address, added security of only the MAC addresses of the devIces I would allow. I know that isn’t in the realm of normal users, but I did network and user support before I retired.

Since our lifestyle has changed to less long distance travel, I returned that device and have added more robust internet service for our home. For the short weekend trips our cell phone data plan works well for us.

  9. The answer is it depends. What items are you going to have on?  If you are only charging the batteries, a #12-3 extension plugged into a 20 amp outlet would probably be enough if within 25-30 feet. Be sure that the outlet you plug into does not have other loads on it. Also, avoid a GFI outlet, some don’t like RVs connected.

If you plan on operating a space heater, go up to a 30 amp extension and have a 30 amp outlet installed. Even if an electrician installs it, check the voltage between all the terminals to be sure it has not been wired as 240 volt not 120 volt you need.
