Need help..!! recently got a Diesel pusher that has a 2 ton basement AC and only blows non-cold air. Does anyone know someone in Souther California (Inland Empire) that may have experience working with this units? My first option is to fix it

Traveling in 44 footer with massive slides and passengers (kids). Dash air won't even touch cooling beyond driver and front passenger. Roof tops could run under geni power, but ducted vents are blocked by slides. Swamp coolers won't work as we are in high humidity location. Typical portable ACs call for venting. Anyone out there found a solution for cooling their passenger compartment while traveling down the road?

I have a 2006 Monaco Dynasty with a dash air conditioning problem. The system quit cooling and I added Freon and it worked for about a day then quit cooling again. I took it into a very knowledgeable technician and he recharged the system and found the AC condenser was leaking. The condenser is mounted in front of the side mounted radiator in the rear. While recharging the system he noted the high pressure side was reaching 500 PSI and shutting off. He said that there needs to be some type of switch or something to make the hydraulic fans turn at a higher RPM to bring the condenser temperature down instead of an emergency type high pressure shut down of the compressor. He felt that the high pressure in the system most likely caused the condenser leak and that if a new condenser was installed it would most likely start leaking because of the extreme pressure in the system. He tried calling The RAV Group that apparently now owns the Monaco lines. They were of no help in trying to diagnose why the pressure was getting so high. If anyone has any ideas about what triggers the cooling of the side mounted AC condenser I would appreciate their comments. I do not want to replace the condenser until I can get the extreme pressures reduced which will require that the cooling fans are cooling the condenser to reduce the temperatures and thus the pressure in the system. The dash air in my 2002 Beaver motorhome is not as cool as it should be. I guess that over the winter the "freon" leaked out. Assuming that the system is in good order, is it possible to recharge the system myself? I have never done that before on a car or anything else. Gerald

My dash air was working sporadically last year when we bought our 2004 Revolution (by Fleetwood model 40D on Freightliner chassis, side-breathing radiator with Cummin ISC diesel power plant... cause I know someone will ask ;-) It would blow cold for a few minutes after starting and then peter out. But now it is warm from the start. I know that I might have multiple problems. A tech told me the initial problem sounds like heater air is mixing with the cooled air, so it only blew cold until the engine heated up. But I suspect that the lack of any cooling now is likely due to lack of refrigerant. I am considering purchasing a vacuum pump and manifold set so that I can properly recharge the system myself (the equipment is about the price of an hour at Cummins-Atlantic!). My main concern is that the low-point cap is at the front of the coach and the high-point is at the rear, so obviously the manifold hoses cannot be plugged into both at once. How should I go about drawing-down and refilling the system? Or should I hang it up and pay Cummins?

If I'm not using my dash air conditioner, can I just go ahead and take the fan belt off the A/C compressor at the engine?
