The first thing I would check is the air mixture. You may have something like spider webs blocking the air flow. If you have the right mixture it should burn with a blue flame and no soot. wolfe10 Report post Posted December 27, 2016 Yes, welcome to the FMCA Forum. As Bill said, check for obstructions (food, spider web, etc) or misalignment of the gas jet/burner tube. If that is not the problem, the next check is propane regulator. Many stoves have their own regulator in addition to the one at the propane tank. Either could be causing the problem. Bottom line is that you do need a specific propane to air mixture for complete combustion.

dickandlois Report post Posted December 29, 2016 Always something new popping up. This is a new one for me, but I did find this link. It list Amana RV stove Grommets, that hold the burner grates in place. Are the grates setting on top of the burner / flame unit and affecting the air to fuel mixture ? Look at the link and see if the mentioned grommets are indeed missing. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=amana rv stove grommets Rich.
