Door won’t open at times

Recommended Posts

Arrived at campground could not open door had to force it open. Found what appears to be a safety bolt that comes down on top of the door did not retract. 2006 American Tradition. After a time it retracted on its own. Any idea what activates this?

On yours, I think it's air.  Mine is a pneumatic door and the same bolt is located 4" above my door handle.

Hope yours is a simple like mine. I found the door latching system was loose on the door.

I tighten the torx screws on the system and it seems to of fixed the problem.

Good luck..... sometimes think simple before getting into the major stuff

Welcome to the forum.

Sometimes a little maintenance goes a long way.

Welcome to the forum Flboatmech168.  Does the handle indicate that you are a boat mechanic from or in Florida? If so, what part?

Oh yes for the OP, maybe a little of the right kind of lubricant in addition to the other attention mentioned above.

Waynebyer.  Air!  I found out how to adjust the door, by calling REV group Tech!  It would help us a great deal more, if you would list:  Make, Model and year of your RV!

Opening a door should be very simple. Fancy stuff that does not work at times is dangerous. Shame on the industry.

Wayne, What entry system do you have?

There is a Pneumatic Entry Door Air Lock (optional). Is a unique feature that minimizes air intrusion, and wind noise when you are on the go.

Rich.
