rfsod48 Report post Posted May 8, 2018 I am getting new tires in a couple of weeks, I had coach aligned about 1 year ago and am wondering if I should get it aligned again when I have new tires on? Roland
elkhartjim Report post Posted May 8, 2018 Does it drive like it needs a new alignment, are your tires showing abnormal wear? If yes, then a new alignment may be needed. Make sure they check the ride height and make sure it's correct before doing the alignment.
wildebill308 Report post Posted May 8, 2018 Did you get an all wheel alignment? When I did they had to correct the thrust angle on the rear axle. That improved how it drove. Bill
rfsod48 Report post Posted May 8, 2018 Bill, where did you get an all wheel alignment? Roland
wildebill308 Report post Posted May 8, 2018 Local Freightliner shop. Bill
rfsod48 Report post Posted May 8, 2018 Bill, When they did your all wheel alignment did they shim the rear axle or break the weld? Freightliner by me doesn’t align motorhomes but uses a specialty shop, this shop shims the rear axle. Quoted a price of $250. Roland
wildebill308 Report post Posted May 9, 2018 If I remember correctly they cut the welds, relocated it and re welded. This was to correct the thrust angle. I am not an expert but I don't know how just shiming it would work. Bill
