Air Filter

Recommended Posts

Bill, when you open them up there is a valve in the bottom of the canister that opens, all of the oil will flow downward into the crankcase. With this design I loosen the oil filter, allow it to pop up (spring loaded stand pipe up the center of the filter), go underneath and drain the oil pan, once that's done, put the plug back in, wipe it off, go back up top and replace the oil filter, fill the engine. Usually that's enough time for the filter to be clear of almost all excess oil (another reason to change the oil with the engine hot or warm). The fuel filters on the other hand...those are messy!

Did Five ever get the Part Number for his DD13 Air Filter?

Herman

He did, but its a Freightliner/Daimler exclusive, no one aftermarket has a cross reference for it :(

Joe, been on the road, I'll check on the filters in the next couple of days.

Herman, yes, a high dollar Eagle, but I'm sure the equipment is furnished by the lowest bidder.:(
