US 84 running with US64 takes you to Chama and they continue together from Chama about 12 miles. Then US 84 heads on to Pagosa Springs while US 64 winds it's way west towards Farmington. Have run from Pagosa Springs to the Sante Fe area on US 84/64 in our 40 foot Phaeton towing a Subaru. No problems at all.

Especially now!  Big Fire, just North of Durango (Million Dollar Hwy) and 14 miles South of Rico (hwy 145)!  :( All roads are currently open....We are in Coretez!

Pagosa Springs is a favorite of ours. Once considered settling there. Knew an employee of Sealand  (regional sales) that left after Maersk bought them. Wound up in Pagosa Springs. Big guy. Became a county prison guard. Might still be there.

Temps are fine year round.

thank you all for your responses... Feel better now. We stay in PS for 2 weeks, then to Durango.... Fire allowing... We hope it rains before
