My wife and I own a 2016 Winnebago Adventurer 37F and a 2018 Ford Explorer 4x4 Platinum. We use Blue Ox tow equipment (Blue Ox BX2668 Base Plate, Blue Ox BX7420 Tow Bar, and the Blue Ox Patriot II Braking System inside the Explorer). The Explorer weighs about 4,200 lbs and the BX7420 is rated to 10,000 lbs.

Hi, f474120, question about towing the Explorer. I know about circulating the fluid before towing and disconnecting the battery. I’m good with that. My question is- does the toad register miles on the odometer when you’re pulling it down the road? My guess is no, but I want to confirm before I buy a $50k suv.

There is no modern car that records mileage when being towed.

Something you should be aware of. When you hook up geting ready to tow. After you shut the car off, you need to pump the brake pedal to bleed off the vacuum for the brakes. Otherwise you can get some over aggressive braking till it bleeds off.
