Best route Las Cruces NM to Roswell NM

Tried search for info but didn't find so asking here for best route from Las Cruces NM to Roswell NM .. Hwy 70 or Hwy 82? Have lost or misplaced my Mountains West book.

Have 45 ft Allegro Bus and towing a Jeep..

Really depends on time of year/WEATHER.

Have done all that route (70/380) in our DP.  No problems, but yes, some mountain driving.

This time of year, verify road  conditions-- would not want to do it on ice!

10 south, 62 east, 285 north MAY (never took that route) should be a lot better if winter storm conditions exist and you are traveling on a schedule.  CHECK!

This time of year, 10, 62, 285.  The 70/380 takes you over El Capitan, then Lincoln, it's snow, ice and a very rough road, one lane most of the way and a lot of sharp turns in the Lincoln area, until you join the Ruidoso Hwy in Hondo.
