allwebb Report post Posted February 18, 2019 Has anyone flat-towed a Chrysler Crossfire? I have a 2005 Crossfire with a 6-speed manual transmission. I have read conflicting information on this. Thanks.
jleamont Report post Posted February 18, 2019 allwebb, Welcome to the FMCA forums! I attached the 2005 guide, I do not see that car listed however base plates are available which raises some questions. Have you tried Chrysler customer service? If you do not have the phone number here it is; 800-247-9753 DinghyGuide2005.pdf
manholt Report post Posted February 18, 2019 Also check with Remco, you might need a auxiliary pump.
five Report post Posted February 18, 2019 What does the owner's manual say...or not say?
allwebb Report post Posted February 19, 2019 The manual says trailer tow but it's referencing an automatic transmission. Has anyone actually towed one of these or know of anyone that has?
wildebill308 Report post Posted February 19, 2019 Have you looked at Remco to see what they say? Bill
allwebb Report post Posted February 19, 2019 Remco says not but I have heard from someone on a Crossfire forum that is towing it with no problems ."Manual transmission Crossfire tows like a dream. Most important note: Make sure the transmission is in neutral and the key has been turned to ON, and then turn it to OFF. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T REMOVE THE KEY. This will keep the steering unlocked without draining the battery. Good luck!"
manholt Report post Posted February 19, 2019 IMHO, your car falls under the heading of, "out of sight, out of mind"! I would have it, undercover on a trailer!
