I was told there were around 1,600 coaches there. We drove from North East Pennsylvania, arrived on Friday and stayed until Thursday evening. Had a great time!

The official coach count was 1,870, which includes 1,717 family coaches and 153 exhibitor coaches.

A story recapping the convention will appear in the May issue of Family Motor Coaching magazine and on FMCA.com.

Was this the smallest turn out for any recent FMCA rally? Do you thing the low turn out is due to the economy, the location, location/time of year, lack of interest, second National rally in less than a year at same location, etc.

Does anything think the rallies will return to the 5000-8000 coach counts of the past?

Has there been any thought to only do one rally each year to make the rallies better events?

These numbers really understate true attendance at the Convention. There were a large number of attendees who chose to stay in the many commercial CG's around Albuquerque vs camping at the Balloon Field. Since Convention camping at the Balloon Field was about a 35 minute drive from the Convention location, far more people than usual choose to stay in full hookup sites and just day pass to the Convention.

I do not have a coach count for these additional attendees, but it certainly ran to several hundred.
