eyler@cox.net Report post Posted April 3, 2019 Hello All. We would like to spend 2-3 months in the Texas Gulf Coast area this coming winter. We have never been to the area so don't know much about it. Looking to fellow FMCA members for RV Park suggestions.
wolfe10 Report post Posted April 3, 2019 eyler@cox.net, Welcome to the FMCA Forum. Please tell us a little more about what you want: rustic or resort? Near water important? What kind/size RV? There are over 300 miles of Gulf coast in TX plus the Rio Grande Valley. I am sure you can find what you are looking for.
eyler@cox.net Report post Posted April 3, 2019 Hi Brett, Thank you for responding. We have a 2000 40 foot Foretravel U295. I would like something near the water. There are so many towns and rv parks that I am at a loss as to where to begin searching. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Trent and Jean Eyler
wolfe10 Report post Posted April 3, 2019 One we enjoy (being sailors as well) is: http://www.serendipitybayresort.com/ A little further south, Rockport is also a popular destination with several RV parks.
ianbullock Report post Posted April 3, 2019 If you are looking to stay within walking distance of the beach, close to Corpus Christi, then may i suggest you look at PIoneer RV Beach Resort. We are headed their next December. It's just south of Port Arsnsas, north of Mustang Island. Here is the link to their web site. https://www.pioneerrvresorts.com/ They are taking reservations now. rfsod48 Report post Posted April 4, 2019 Majestic Oaks at Rockport and Southern Oak Luxury RV park at Aransas Pass are both very nice parks. One thing to consider if you park near the Gulf is the need to frequently rinse your vehicles due to the sea fog which deposits salt on them. This was relayed to me by several residents of Pioneer RV park near Port Aransas.

wayne77590 Report post Posted April 4, 2019 6 hours ago, eyler@cox.net said: WOW! Thank you Wayne! You are welcome. One way to see what RV Parks are in the area is to google that area. Then, in the google "Search The Web" box put in "RV Parks." It will not be all-inclusive and may have some hotel/motel listing but it is a good start for anywhere along your route. Also, Camp Ground Reviews is a good source of information. There are others that are apps, like rvparky. koa, allstays, etc. for planning. There are more in the Galveston area and using campgroundreviews.com will list them. If you have a specific question on any one park, give a holler.
manholt Report post Posted April 5, 2019 Wayne, you saved me a lot of typing! That's why I have not jumped in, thanks..🤗 eyler, Wayne lives 30 minutes from me, I'm on Galveston Island.
zeboray Report post Posted May 29, 2019 If in Galveston look at Sandpiper RV. A real nice place right at the beach on the east end of the island. Beautiful pool, a couple blocks from down town and cruise ship port, and right down the street from the ferry. I've stayed there multiple times. In fact, I just bought a high-rise apartment to spend October to May.
manholt Report post Posted May 29, 2019 Galveston Island don't have a shortage of RV Resorts, Condos, Vacation houses for rent or people! We just need infrastructure...my West End home is now on market...too many people! I'm now, officially at the ranch in Hill Country of Texas..

wayne77590 Report post Posted May 30, 2019 BTW Carl, I made that list for a friend some time ago and said, Hmmm, maybe I should save this. So I put it in "Notes" and just cut and paste now. However, one day I'll have to revise it as more are going in or being remodeled.
manholt Report post Posted June 3, 2019 We will be using Stella Mar when we come to visit friends on the Island....most live around there and it's a great park & location!
freedomlvr Report post Posted June 22, 2019 Gulf Waters RV Resort, Port Aransas. Probably the nicest RV Resort on the Texas Gulf Coast.
wayne77590 Report post Posted June 22, 2019 Port Aransas is about 200 miles Southwest of Galveston. The further South one goes the warmer it will be. Many Winter Texans go down to the RGV (Rio Grand Valley). Lot of nice RV parks all the way down the coast.
