wolfe10 Report post Posted March 15, 2020 In a word, YES. The thermostat should cycle it on/off on propane or 120 VAC.
donaldrfiske Report post Posted March 15, 2020 Ok so since it’s running constantly on propane and not cycling is there something I can check causing the problem we’re boondocking so I can’t hook up to AC to see if it cycles
wolfe10 Report post Posted March 15, 2020 First thing I would to do is put a thermometer in the refrigerator. That will tell you IF the thermostat should be signaling it to be on. Often times the propane burner does not go from full heat output to zero, but slowly looses output as rust and dust deposit in the burner tube. When was the last time you did a burner area tune-up?? mailman Report post Posted March 15, 2020 Donald You have a time to run the generator to cycle it for 2 hours a month which is needed for maintenance . So you do something you should do and check your frig at the same time, on electric . This is a thought what do the temp gauge . say the temps are in b oth boxes. If it does not cycle there could be something wrong, BUT the reason for temp gauge's Usually the first problem check the burner if something is wrong, than the board. Of course how hot is it outside that is important to know Tim the mailman

hermanmullins Report post Posted March 22, 2020 Don, all refrigerators should cycle of and on. That is how they maintain the even temperature as set. Herman
