While rear shocks are replaced - what else should be inspected?

Recommended Posts

Rear shocks are to be replaced with Monroe's on a recently purchased

2002 Fleetwood Jamboree 29V on Ford E-450 V10 chassis

and yes, I'm sure Koni or Bilstein would be a better choice.  But I couldn't get the Bilstein shocks in time to have them replaced this week.

QUESTION - assuming no suspension parts have ever been replaced in the 18 year, 30,000 mile driving history of this motor home, what specific items should I ask to be inspected while I have it in the shop getting the rear shocks replaced?

Bushings?  Stabilizer bars?  Other?

Welcome to the forum Bud H.

I would go with all the above and have the level of gear oil checked in the differential. When you get a new to you coach it is good to zero out the maintenance.

If they are pulling the wheels off, always nice to have an inspection done on the brakes.

At that age I’d have them change the gear oil in the rear if not already done. Inspect the brake hoses. At that age I’d probably replace them and flush the brake fluid.
