Travel to Grands Canyon to Moab

Question

We are planning a trip from Nashville to Grand Canyon (South Rim) then on to Moab and Salt Lake (next summer). Looks like we take I40 most of the way to Grand Canyon

Wondering if any tips or lessons learned of which route is best, things to avoid or must places to see other than the obvious

We are driving a 40 foot diesel Allegro Open Road

Thanks!

Casino RV Parks in NM is not open yet.  KOA is.  If you have the time, I recommend going to North Rim after South rim.  There are 3 big RV Parks at the Junction of 173 and 67, others in Park.  Then take 67 to 89A to Kanab, Utah.  Lots of RV parks in Kanab, 89 to Hwy 9 for Zion and Hwy 12 to Red Canyon and Bryce! We just spent 2 weeks there!

After Bryce, take 12E and it will loop around to Hwy 89 and I-70 East to Hwy 191 to Moab!

I have not been on I-40 from Nashville to Oklahoma City in many years, but have been many times from Oklahoma City to Flagstaff. There is a city park/campground at Sayre, Ok 20 mikes east of Texas. Reasonable 50amp pull thru sites. Old town in Albuquerque maybe worth a visit, but parking for your large MH is difficult to find.  Exit 107, 50 miles west of Albuquerque is Dancing Eagle Casino that has 7 pull thru full hook up sites, and they will reserve. I think the sites are $12. If full, about 10 miles west is Sky City Casino and RV park. Pricer but Good Sam park. Flagstaff has several campgrounds that are pricey.

Safe travels.
