How to Repair Electrical Cord Reel

Recommended Posts

Welcome to the FMCA discussion forums!

I've never had one; I have read of owners removing the reel and repairing the 120VAC contacts in the electrical box. I seem to remember reading about that on a different RVing forum.

How to repair my electrical cord reel motor?  It is a Shoreline Reel Model # RV5036.  Company is no longer in business.

What is wrong with it?

The reel is not moving but the motor is running. . . and I would like to repair it.   I read a post from backhoej from 2010 or 12 and it sounds like the same issue.

This came up on a post here about 5 years ago, with the fix!

I am new to this forum.  How would I find an old post?

Go to search and type in a word in the topic you are looking for. The all topics with that word in it will show. Then you can sort through then till the one you are looking for comes up.

I used these parts from backhoej on ebay.  The gear replaced the broken part in both a power cord reel and a water hose reel.  I've been using the repaired power cord reel for a couple of years with no problems.  The water hose reel is sitting on the floor of my shed.
