Sewage

As we were heading out on our last RV trip, we stopped at our favorite getting out of town casino in the Palms Springs/Indio area.

We planned to overnight and get an early start the next am. However, a security guard came up to us as we exited our RV and told us we were not welcome to overnight because someone with a 5th wheel had dumped their sewage in the adjacent dirt parking lot.

He said this person did not simply dump in one spot but took the trouble to dump in 5 different spots around the lot.

Management did not want to expose their employees to the mess and hired a HazMat crew to clean it up, which was very expensive.

It's hard for me to believe a fellow RVer would do that kind of thing, but they have video of it from the security cameras.

Another example of some careless person ruining a nice benefit for other responsible and courteous RVers.

That is such a shame. It labels us other RV'ers.

I really hope the video is able to identify who did it and that restitution for cleanup and damages can be had by the casino.

There was nothing "careless" about this incident. It took time, forethought, and a lot of anger. Another form of vandalism. Unfortunately, it paints a very bad picture of respectable RV'ers.

I would assume that the same person that did this would without caring -

Dump at a dump station without hooking up a sewer hose.

Let his animal dump on my site & not pick it up.

Toss trash out of the window while traveling.

Play his 500 watt stereo long after quiet time has started.

Pull out in front of you, within a hundred feet, on a two lane road when you're traveling at sixty mph.

Throw the large rocks surrounding a shore line site out into the lake.

Walk straight through your site repeatedly so he won't have to walk around.

Refuse to keep his animal on a leash.

And many more deeds not done by rational people.

I've witnessed all of the above through the years.

They're everywhere and not just in RV's. How about the ones who open their door after eating at McBarfs and gently leave their whole bag of trash on the ground then drive away! These are the same people who can't flush a toilet folks. They are everywhere!

I never found out what casino this might have been as I recently dry camped at the 2 casinos that I know of in that area and was warmly welcomed. The 3rd in the area has no parking to speak of an certainly no room for an RV so I remain confused about the original post.

RVers are VERY welcome at the Spotlight 29 and the Fantasy Springs casinos and there remains area designated for RV's and the shuttle carts pick you up and drop you off if you so choose.
