smalexander Report post Posted September 26, 2011 In mid October we're looking for a week in the Santa Barbra CA area. I only see Ocean Mesa at El Capitan listed in my references (MH 39')but it's very pricy and the pictures on the web don't look that great for nearly Benjamin Franklin each night. Any alternates in the area? Steve
srfridley Report post Posted September 26, 2011 Flying Flags RV park in Buellton is about 40 miles north of Santa Barbara, I haven't stayed there for a few years but it was a good park with plenty of room for your rig.
shields Report post Posted September 27, 2011 Steve, Many of the state parks near Santa Barbara have size limits too small for your coach. Here are some options where you can fit in. 1. El Capitan State Beach. 800-444-PARK. We dry camped there and loved it. 2. Santa Barbara Sunrise RV Park. 805-966-9954. I have not stayed there but did a "drive by" and it looked ok. 3. Lake Casitas. Great fishing, but not in Santa Barbara. 805-649-2233. 4. Emma Wood State Beach (closer to Ventura). We stayed there and it was wonderful. 805-648-4127. 5. Lake Cachuma Recreation Area. In the foothills just east of Santa Barbara. 805-686-5054. All these are way cheaper than the $100 per night you mentioned. Happy travels, Tim
BrianB Report post Posted October 12, 2011 The DW and I like to go up to Lake Cachuma alot. They have full hookups as well as "primitive" spaces. The west facing side along the shore is beautiful but it is WINDY and not fun. Good food at the Cold Spring Tavern nearby. Or go into Los Olivos or even Solvang for good restaurants. Both are not too far away from the Lake.
