Jayco GreyHawk 31DS Listing to Side

Recommended Posts

Purchased a new Greyhawk this past April in Ohio - was show model. When driving it home from dealer in Ohio - wife noticed the vehicle was listing to the right side a good six inches. Took it to a level lot and measured the distance between the ground and bumper and it was nearly four inches difference. the RV has two slides on the driver's side.

Jayco says there is nothing wrong with it and offered to make a goodwill gesture to remove the shims from the driver's side if we would sign a release. Very poor customer service all the way around.

There is a list of other little things wrong with it, but all within the scope of the dealer to fix. This is a bigger program.

Looking to see if anyone has any similar experience - is this okay? It looks like it is going to roll over when going to the right.

Thanks for any assistance - we are in Pittsburgh, PA.

Griff,

Welcome to the FMCA Forum.

I would suggest you do two things:

1. Weigh the individual wheel positions to determine if the right side is substantially heavier than the left/axles are above/below GAWR.

2. Go to a truck dealer specializing in your chassis, armed with the information from #1 above.

Leveling a vehicle with spring suspension is not rocket science. Leafs can be added or removed (actual weights will help determine which), shims can be added, etc. Done all the time.
