DOWDYL350 Report post Posted February 29, 2012 Help! We brought home our "new" 40' 2007 Fleetwood Revolution and plugged it in to our outdoor power source and nothing. We can't find the converter to turn it on. What are we doing wrong?
Guest BillAdams Report post Posted February 29, 2012 What kind of outdoor power source? Is this a special plug for your RV or just a standard 15/20 Amp plug? Are you sure the plug still has power? Did a GFCI trip? What converter are you looking for?
lmsooter Report post Posted February 29, 2012 Bill asks some very good questions. The answers to those will help determine where your problem might be. Did you check the power source with a meter (or if it is 15/20 AMP, plug in an item you know works - drill, etc.).
f58342 Report post Posted March 1, 2012 If you plugged into a 15/20 amp outlet you probably tripped the GFI. Even 30 or 50amp outdoor circuits may have GFIs. In some locales building codes require them. Almost all MHs are miswired. There can be no connection between ground and neutral in the MH. If on the end of your power plug you place an ohm meter and measure between neutral and ground and you meter go to zero you are miswired. You will not be able to use any GFI protected electrical circuit. In many cases the mfg did no use a ground switching inverter. You need to correct this if you plan on using any state or federal campgrounds as many are putting GFIs on the 30 & 50 amp circuits.
