Ladies.... Packing Your Necklaces?

Recommended Posts

I've been going thru my jewelry and selecting what I'll keep. I have several necklaces that I love but I don't have a clue how to travel with them. I'm thinking of something like a paper towel roll? Threading them thru it? What do you think?

How do you "pack" them at home? There's no reason that you cannot do the same in the RV.

Ziplock bags won't work because they will get all knotted up in there. At home they are on a special hanger made for necklaces (has 12 hooks on it) & that just hangs on the wall. i don't know how well that would travel.

I have mine in a traveling jewelry bag which allows them to be rolled up. I find that matching earrings, bracelet and necklace or what I think matches, fit in each compartment and then move onto the next. I found jewelry case for traveling like this many years ago, since I have taken traveling make-up or other smaller bags to make my own. they do not have to zip just a flap of cloth over the top and then they tuck into a drawer.

Now I have discovered that jewelry is my ART. So I have moved on to a storage cabinet just for me with some boxes which allow holding the things to make jewelry and the finished product. Much smaller than paintings or other breakables from all the places we visited that I wanted something special to remember it by. Most are inexpensive, Some just a special bead or two, others completely finished pieces.

My wife put some of those very small 3m hooks on the inside of the medicine cabinet and hangs her necklaces there.

Just yesterday she asked me for a small square piece of "screening." Of course, who am I to argue so I complied.

She put all her little ear rings on the screen. Said she is going to hang it on the inside of the medicine cabinet. She was tired of having to dump her little container to select her ear rings for the day.

Happy trails.
