Schroon Lake Campgrounds

Recommended Posts

We are looking for c/g that will have cabin rentals for grandchildren and parents with space for our motorhome. We have seen Medcalf Acres and spoken to owner, however they want payment in full with no refunds. I would not feel comfortable with that policy.

Any recommendations for cabin/site rentals would be appreciated.

We would like to stay in proximity to Lake George also.

Thanks

Check out Lake George RV Park. We go there almost every year with kids and grand kids. They have cabins and almost any activity you can think of - including evening entertainment included in the price. However, THE PRICE AIN'T CHEAP - $77/night for 2.

When you consider that when you get there, any other costs are discretionary, it's not as bad as it sounds at first look. All sites are 50a, cable, w/s and wi-fi included.

It enters the bike trail between Lake George and Glens Falls. 4 miles on the paved trail to the beach on the lake.

Good luck.

There are a number of places in the Lake George region. (Lake George is in the Adirondack Mountains, about 50 miles north of Albany, the lake is know as " The Queen of Americas Lakes" its 32 miles long and spring fed).

There is a nice campground call King Phillips Family Campground. It is south of the Village of Lake George, about a mile, phone # 518 668-5763. Unknown about rental units. Whats nice is you can take the trolly/tram into the Village of go south to the shopping outlets, cost $1.00 per person. Plenty of mom and pop hotels along Rt. 9 in that area.

Also, there is a KOA in Lake Luzerne, same exit of the Northway Rt. 87 as the Village, exit 21. They have cabins for rent. Never stayed at the KOA. Many times at King Phillips. Lake George RV park is BIG $$$.

Plenty to do in the Village. The state runs the Million Dollar beach on the south end of the lake.

We just returned froma week at the "Lake George Escape" campground on the Schroon River with our grandchildren. You can view it online to get all the info. Staff was friendly and helpful and we expect to go back
