Changing Dash AC

My wife's Honda Accord AC blew so cold it could burn your leg. My workhorse dash AC is anemic. It blows warm when stopped in traffic and not cold enough when running on warm days. Anyone change out their compressors for a good Nippon-Denso?

Have you measured temperature drop?

Temperature at air intake for dash HVAC (easy to do on recirculate)?

Temperature in center A/C outlet at road speed?

Will check. Some folks say to press recirc when stopped in traffic.

Actually, with any vehicle, run A/C on recirculation any time the inside temperature/humidity at the air return is lower than that in the outside air.

Why take in 100 degree outside air if you can take in 80 degree inside air???

Question, how do all of these new A/C unit in vehicles work? When on "Auto" does it run on recirculate or Outside air?

Can't answer that, as we don't have (and don't particularly care for) those with fully automatic temperature controls. Likely there is not "this is how they all work" answer.

Do you have a separate recirculate button? If so, in the Texas heat, once inside temperature is below outside temperature, hit the button.

If you have a setting for A/C and another for Max A/C (or similar), the Max A/C setting is the recirculate setting.
