hermanmullins Report post Posted November 10, 2012 Jim, Welcome to the Forum. On a 99 454 you have fuel injection of some kind. All fuel injected engines require an electric fuel pump (most are in the Gas tank). They have a fairly high pressure. There is a connector on your fuel line that you can check the pressure. If you do not have pressure or have low pressure the engine will not run. There are two solutions to this. One you can have the pump in the gas tank replaced. Two you can have a external electric fuel pump added close to the tank. (most electric fuel pumps push the fuel rather then pull the fuel). I opt for replacing the pump in the tank. dickandlois Report post Posted November 10, 2012 Herman is correct regarding the fuel pump, also check for 12 volts to the pump. You should be able to hear it running( till pressure is built up) There is a relay in the circuit controlled from the ignition key. If the pump is running check for a plugged inline fuel filter.
