C8.3 Cummins/Change Coolant

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a 1995 Cummins C8.3 engine in a Safari RV that I am changing out the coolant. I am concerned that I might not get all the air out of the block. I can't find and petcocks or removable plugs to vent out. I did find drain at bottom of oil cooler. Can anone help me out.

Thanks,

See if there is a hose (small diameter) from thermostat housing to coolant overflow tank. If so, that will bleed the air from the system as you slowly fill the system.

If not, the thermostat housing is where you will need to loosen a line, hose, etc to bleed the air, since it is the highest point on the engine.
