Depends on where you plan to mount the antenna. Attaching it to the front fiberglass shroud or a sidewall? To the shroud, you need a spot where you can get into to attach the mounting bolts and pull the cable through and not drill into any wiring.The same for a sidewall mount. The only real difference is not drilling through one of the steel or aluminum structural members in the side wall and being able to attach the inside portion of the mount and running the coax cable. Always good to have a sharp drill(s) Ponder the possibilities, think clearly where things would work best, with no unexpected surprise's. Rich. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
kaypsmith Report post Posted August 26, 2016 I use a holesaw to penetrate the fiberglass skin, a standard drillbit will try to walk and cause an elongated hole. Also the CB antenna will need to be a top loaded fiberglass antenna, such as a K-40.
