I would recommend going into Glacier from the WEST side. Here is my recommendation, take 90 toward Missoula. Just before Missoula take 93 north. Really nice campground at the turn off on 93. Jim & Mary's RV Park, 9800 U.S. 93 N, Missoula, MT 59808, jimandmarys.com, (406) 549-4416

Stay to the west of Flathead lake (I have driven both sides and the west is easier) You can pick up rt 2  in Kalispell. We stayed at Glacier Peaks RV Park & Campground, 3185 MT-40, Columbia Falls, MT 59912, glacierpeaksrvpark.com, (406) 892-2133. Nice park and easy drive to the park. Plan on taking the red bus tour. http://www.glaciernationalparklodges.com/red-bus-tours

I also recommend you check snow removal and weather conditions. before driving up to the park.

We spend the winter in The Rio Grande Valley, and plan to head west next spring. Will be in Seattle at some point visiting family. Thought we would  take Route 90 east an visit Glacier and then head north to Banf area before returning to upstate NY. Have to do some research on the weather in that area .
